to keep it short, yes...headers were a night and day different as far as power mods go (since performance mods are limited with our cars). Imagine driving your car in sport mode with stock headers. After headers, regular driving mode feels like sport mode, and sport mode is a whole new beast.

You are reading my mind here. My next move is headers and GESI cats, but my wonder is what to expect when I do this.

I can say from experience than I ran catless for a 1yr 1/2 with PPE headers/Borla combo and the smell was atrocious!! I got sick of it and welded in some GESI cats and it eliminated 95% of the smell they are quality cats for sure

I did go with Magnaflow dual tip from RR for an aesthetic upgrade and it did make it louder for sure, so I understand wanting to stay with the stock exhaust for the quietness paired with headers.

^^^^Would slightly mellow the sound, clean up any exhaust smell if you have it. But, most importantly, it helps keep the air clean.

I'm using the PPE headers/Borla combo and I can't even drive with the windows down. I ended up getting some magnaflow cats, but even with those on, the smell is still pretty strong. Other members don't get any smell at all so I'm wondering if theres an exhaust leak some where?

It's possible you could have a leak? Can't speak for how well the Magnaflow cats clean up the smell but for sure know the GESI cats cleaned up 95% of the smell according to my smell-o-meter

I have Sikky V2 headers and magnaflow HF metal core cats on my midpipe. You get some smell, I think it eliminated 60% vs catless. Gesi cats are most likely way more efficient for about $500 more for a pair though.

I have no cats and love the smell. Smells like a fast car should IMO. I grew up around carbureted sports cars, so I welcome a little stink. It’s not that strong of an odor to me.
