Wow, all the way up to 2014? How did that not get resolved in production.

warning to you, my 350 dash and door panels were replaced. Looks good. I now have an unfixable rattle in the dash when the temperature drops. In the end, I’d do it again, but it’s annoying. We can’t find the problem. Back to dealer 3 times.

You're probably right. I just assumed it would be much easier with a letter in hand.

You will never get a letter. It isn't a recall. It's an "extended warranty" for customers who demonstrate they have the issue. If you don't have sticky panels (like me, my car never sits in the sun for any extended period), you'll never get this covered unless you have a really good relationship with a Lexus SA. Again, you won't get a letter. It isn't a recall and it never will be.

Per the posted screenshot of the FAQ...

Q2: What is Lexus going to do?
A2: Lexus will send, starting in October 2018, an owner notification by first class mail advising owners of this Customer Support Program.

Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah!!!! Was planning a trip to an upholstery shop to see if they could wrap my door panels. When I bought the car I thought the previous owner's dog had chewed them up. I've had the car for a few months now and realized how easy they are to mar up.

Fair enough about the letter, but right underneath is says "if the owner experiences the condition" and nothing says recall anywhere.

I have seriously been toying with this idea until now. Even got to the point of having a design for panels and dash in my head and have been researching upholstery shoos in the area and state. I was gonna do full alcantara on the dash and panels.

I wonder what they will constitute as “sticky/cracked”. I have areas in my door panels that look melted and not cracked. It’s sticky but that is relative too. They can just say it’s dirty right?

I think they snuck into my car and took pictures of my interior!

If your car doesn't qualify for this, I don't know what would. I remember the last time I saw it, and it was really looking beat up.

Lance, you should see it now...it's gotten worse.

My kid was able to do this because of the panel melting. He's even been able to slice it with his fingernails. So it looks worse now than this picture.

Well, I guess I'll put my old door panels back in the car, and request reimbursement for the dashboard replacement...
