Default Oil Cooler Leak

Hello friends. I noticed a slight leak between the oil filter housing unit and the oil cooler. There is a rubber o-ring inside the oil cooler. The dealer does not sell the rubber o-ring by itself and the oil cooler is anywhere between $700-$1200 dollars. Does anyone know where I can find/purchase just the o-ring? Thanks!

What about this if the unit needs replacing?

Wouldn't this be better suited to replace the oil cooler

That combo kit you linked includes a replacement for the factory transmission fluid cooler, which is a bit smaller.

I'd start with an oil filter housing o-ring. If it's too big, just slice a little out of it and superglue the ends together. You could also try 90301-67004 as it is the o-ring used for the same purpose on the RC F and GS F engines (and about a thousand other Lexus and Toyota oil coolers). It might be the same as what you need.

The only real problem is, that original o-ring should never, ever leak, and if it does, it's pretty likely the filter housing assembly 15609-38020 has a manufacturing defect that didn't pop up until now.

Hi. I haven't done anything yet. Waiting until I change my oil. I'm going to try the gaskets. If that doesn't work, than I will just bite the bullet and buy the oil cooler. Let us know what you plan to do and please give us updates. Thanks.

Wanted to provide feedback in case it helps someone in the future. That part number (right) is the same size as the ISF o-ring (left)

Mine recently started leaking. All fixed now

Really sorry to raise this from the dead. Just did the starter and noticed the oil cooler leaking. Dont want to pay for a new assembly right now. This O ring fit and held up for you? I will try this first if so. Thanks!

have to look and see if i still have a photo. The O ring did fit in the ISF and all looks good so far. will check back under the car in a week or 2. There was a decent leak it was very noticeable under when the shields were removed. Hopefully just saved myself a bunch of money right there by not replacing the oil cooler.

also you would be happy to know i recently put a new JoeZ exhaust on this ISF. Loved it on my last one 😎

Figure I'd post this here in case anyone needs it. Here are gaskets you will need to fix the leaking oil cooler. One is the O-ring for the coolant block to oil filter housing and the other is the washer for the bolt.
