JAPAN FFM Full Function Module Part # 89663-AP301 IS-F Tune
Hey Guys, posting this for a friend. Can one of you elaborate on this unit? I seen past threads and articles about the FFM module that icode in Japan used to tune the IS-F.
My friend sourced one, however the unit needs the ECU writer which did not come with. I know some of you might be against it, however he just wants to try it. Any leads, info would be great.

I'm wondering if this ECU tune is behind their ridiculous shift speeds:

I don't really think the shifts are that fast I think it's just misleading. I think it's just because there isn't much resistance on that roller and the car is going thru the gears extremely quick nothing with the shifting speed.

I highly doubt its a placebo effect I'm hearing.....Those shifts sound super fast....way way faster than my car even with cat-less headers, exhaust WOT it's no where near that quick.

If you click the link above they talk about shift points And accelerator response. I wouldn't be surprised if they did tune it for better shifting. I don't think the isf tuning is at it's full potential yet, there just isn't anyone other than rr that's offering good tune options for us

If they can talk to the TCU they probably were able to mess with the settings. BMW's the transmission can be flashed separately from the ECU. Someone went as far as to make a Phone App that can flash the 6HP ZF transmissions TCU's in Bmw's. My 135i hasa custom flash with 50% faster shift speeds, kickdown delete, auto upshift delete, paddle delay deleted, better torque converter lockup, in dash gear displays ETC. https://www.xhpflashtool.com is the product if anyone was curious. Im sure unlocking the TCU would be just as hard as the ECU was.
