Default How to fix wind buffeting

I searched but couldn't find much. With the windows up, the car is perfect. Hardly any wind noise, super quiet. With the windows down, there is a lot of buffeting/turbulence. There obviously should be some, but it is incredibly bad and makes me want to just keep the windows up. I think it has something to do with the position of my seat. It is moved right next to the B pillar, so I bet there is a fair amount of wind deflection off it. I have had similar seating positions in other cars without this problem. Will wind deflectors help? Is there anything else I could try?

No doubt that the F is a TERRIBLE open window car. It's almost impossible to open the windows in such a manner that it is enjoyable to drive. My best guess to date is to open the drivers window fully and then crack the rear, drivers side window. To be honest, this is probably the one aspect of the F that I hate the most. The car sucks with windows open.

Agreed tho some improvement can be had by tilting the sunroof and/or opening it. It seems to equalize the pressure but now it's a different kind of noise but the buffering is reduced.

For me, it’s less about buffeting and more about wind hitting me right in the face!

I wonder if rain guards would help decrease buffeting?

Having the rear windows down helps. Still kinda bad though. Thanks for the help.

Try just cracking the rear drivers window. Sounds crazy, but fully open driver's window and cracked rear drivers window seems to be the best I can do.

^^^^..........That's what I do, I crack both rear windows about 3" and vent the sunroof and the wind flow is the best your going to get without getting blasted in the face with the fronts.

I remember posting about this shortly after I got the car. One of the, if not the, worst thing about the F IMO. On my G Coupe I can cruise with windows open in any configuration and rest my arm on the big, fat window sill with total comfort. Point for the G.
