ISF in Orange County on Craigslist Review

Just giving the heads up about this Lexus ISF for sale
The condition of this car is not in excellent condition Seller refuse to tell me any flaws or issues that I encounter.
Suspension and ride of this vehicle is rough and not stable compared to other 2008s
The front end seems like it was in some type of fender bender maybe??? and rear bumper is not flush
ball joint and control arms seem to be replaced
acceleration of the car is kinda sluggish with all the mods
passenger seat controls doesn't work
Carfax + His stories hint its been to Texas and back (CA) car was a Texas title
please have this car look at by a specialist head to toe before purchase.
Just to be clear I'm no mechanic or auto specialist.
anyone whose had seen this car and would say a few words please do so
Sorry for my English(2ndLanguage)

*more than likely, he's had a few people test drive the car then afterwards say "let me check with my wife/mom/dad to see if I can have this". I'm sure there's frustration built up in him to post/say that in the ad.
*More than likely, he is a, or has been a member on this forum if he has PPE headers, RR Racing tune, Joe Z exhaust, a Wald rear diffuser, and Bayson R front lip.
*More than likely, when a seller post sorry/dark pics in their ad, it's usually to cover/hide things they don't want seen before a potential customer sees it in person.
Hopefully he didn't know about the few things inside not working.
Personally, this is the reason why I tell people to not shop for a price when it comes to these cars.....need to shop for a car, not a price. Very few of the Fs for sale $24k and under are in good shape.
Thanks for your feedback! I'm sure other potential shoppers in the area will appreciate that.

selling vehicles on craigslist is totally different than on forums such as this. at least here on club lexus there's a sense of mutual respect between buyer/seller but on craigslist you get people who have no intentions or ability to purchase these cars and are just out for a joyride so i really understand why the seller wrote that on the ad. but he should disclose everything about the car so that part is kinda shady.

While is it pretty corny and stupid sounding, the point of it its absolutely warranted.
As someone who's been in the car business for 18 years in many capacities, "qualifying" a buyer to insure they're able to make the purchase is 100% necessary, not just on ISF's. Not suggesting I'd need to get credit info or cash in hand. But absolutely fair to expect a buyer to be serious and qualified/able to buy.

I've sold many cars on Craigslist over the years & I've had that happen to me. Where this 18 year old kid fresh out of high school came to look at my car for 3 hours on my only day off, we negotiated a price, only to have his mom (who was paying for the car) come with the cash & then disagree with him buying a non eco friendly sports car. I went off on him a little & was mind blown that the kid & the parents did not discuss this before hand before coming here to waste my time & had my plans canceled, told them to go figure it out before coming back. You guys would be mind blown by the type of idiots you deal with on Craigslist..

Case and point... I would have never allowed an 18 year old kid to spend even 5 minutes viewing my car with out proof of funds or pre-approval note from bank, whatever the case is, at the very least a conversation about how the car is being paid for before wasting time. Someone ACTUALLY serious, will be approved, or happily show the proof of funds upfront and not be offended. Call it age discrimination if you will, call it judging, profiling, don't care what its called. I'm not equal opportunity when it comes to my own personal goods and $.... the bank can be equal opportunity when they loan him the $, but until then #notmyproblem
On the other side of thing, i don't want to buy from a private owner and deal with title transfer with a lien from the bank.

Honest questions here..even if someone shows you a pre-approval or proof of funds. How would you go after them for a loss (accident/damage on the test drive)? You technically gave them permission to drive your car. I've never sold private because i don't want to deal with the hassle and in WA state, if you trade in, it would offset the tax anyways and most likely being a wash between private sale and trade in value.

The pre-approval and proof of funds was more for even starting a discussion with someone (especially an 18 yr old). I under no circumstance would let anyone drive my car with out a copy and proof of their full coverage insurance, drivers license, and waiver stating if they damage the car it is their responsibility and liability. If for some reason someone did all that and crashed my car and for whatever reason their insurance was not valid or not covering it, my own insurance would cover it, then i would assume my insurance company would go after them for the damages, just as if someone hit my car, and didn't have insurance. My car and myself would be covered, and insurance co would go after them for the $.
In many states there is a tax credit yes that offsets the sales tax of a new car. A lot of times yes it could be close to a wash depending how much you get for your car. However, with that said, chances are what the dealer offers you on trade, vs what you can sell it for is generally bigger then the 8-10% tax credit, until you get into the higher priced range, 35-40-50K where your tax credit would be 3500-5000. But, again, that only works if you're trading in. If you're not trading in and buying something else you're SOL.
The title transfer etc, is very simple, most of the time the bank you work with will take care of most of it for you, or tell you exactly what you need to do wether buying or selling. Its not hard at all. To me well worth the $ difference i could expect selling a car on my own.
