toping of the coolant is what usually fixes this problem, also make sure to check for valley leak platte if you have isf

after driving my is300 and F back to back i noticed how quick the is300 warms up compared to the F lol, warming up that much oil takes forever

Dear God, thank you for today's cold front... and for these forums. Lol. I was SO sad/cold/miserable all the way to work thinking, that of all things my "$80k luxury sports sedan" could have wrong, it'd be the damn heater.

A little water did the deed! Many thanks to all here.

When my heat stopped working it was the valley plate leak causing coolant to leak. Yes, you may have fixed it for the time being, but pink goo might be seeping out without you knowing it. I’d get it checked out.

Agreed. You shouldn't be losing coolant rapidly. It takes years for coolant volume to fall from evaporation.

Thx. Well aware of the dreaded valley plate issue... No seepage yet, thankfully.

I'd flushed the system last year with water, 20% Toyota Super Long Life, and Water Wetter, since coolant is a considerably less effective as a heat transfer medium vs. water. She was just a smidge low, not even a pint, I'm pretty sure from insufficient burping from said flush.

same here. It was the valley plate. This happened to prior owner. Fixed before I purchased.
