New Member and New ISF!!
Former Acura owner owned two Acura TL Type S 6MT, always wanted the Lexus ISF was just out of my budget and finally I was able to get one!! It’s a 2009 ISF has 66K Miles black on black and it’s a beast!!! I was able to get the car for 25K Out the door from a Subaru dealer by my house and car came with 3M film protector on the front end which was a bonus. Hope to learn more about this monster and the ins and outs.
I do have two questions first one is the Navigation for some reason doesn’t show the correct location and I dont know if it’s the Navi that has a issue or it’s just a setting. The question is the rear trunk feels really heavy when I open it so I’m thinking the gas struts might need to be replaced, any aftermarket options available or do I need to get OEM struts.

Congrats on your IS-F Benny!
Not on an IS-F, but I've tried aftermarket struts in replacing my Lexus trunk struts and they've been a bit off... ended up going back to OEM.

Thanks Dave I will read these threads to see if they have a solution. As far as the struts I will see online what the OEM ones are going for vs aftermarket.

Welcome Benny, congrats on the F, looks like a good example.
Can’t help with the nav issue, but boot/trunk issue isn’t an issue if that makes sense!
Mine is also heavy, but pretty sure that’s the norm with these? You hardly need any force to close them, but provided it’s staying up when open, your probably fine mate.
Enjoy the car, and let us know if you have any more questions.
Cheers!

Congrats!
I asked the dealer about the weak struts as well and they said it was “normal”, My trunk literally unlatches but does not pop up at all when I open it. If you do swap out the oem struts, let us know the results. I’m still not sure if my trunk is really normal or not, never seen a trunk this weak.

Ok I will give it a shot and replace the struts and see if there’s improvement. As far as Navi I’m not sure what the issue is but I read up and it could be a disconnected gps connection on the back of the radio. Will check that out as well and see if that’s the case for the incorrect location.

Also this came up under service menu and Navi needs check so something definitely is wrong. I will remove the radio and look behind and make sure everything is connected.

Welcome and good luck with your ISF. Truck thats normal it was that way when I bought the car brand new back in 2011 and it still the same way LOL. There's tons of information on DIYs as well as mods, fixes you name it just use the search feature. And if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask the folks here on CL are good group and very knowledgeable and helpful.

That's a new one for me I've never seen that error message in seven years I suggest you start a separate thread on this also you may want to go to the section that says Lexus Forum discussion go to the audio video section scroll down it's towards the bottom and posts up there as well to get additional help.

Also check the regular 2IS forum. There are a whole lot more threads about nav issues there because there are a whole lot more of those cars and we all have the sam Gen 5 nav, so their comments are completely relevant.
I replaced the struts in my trunk with units from an eBay seller. They only lift a little bit, and even when the car was brand new, the trunk didn't lift by itself, only popped up enough to know it was indeed open. Pretty sure there is a thread about it here...
