When your car kicked down in gears though was it instant or did it kick down to 3, then a brief moment later it accelerated. Mine this mornning kicked down quick but the actual power wasnt available as instant

No I have still got the sonny tune after his tuner fixed the problem, before the tune there was a small lag after you mashed the pedal but that slight pause has gone. In hindsight I would have gone the RR tune,( seeing as they cracked the tune and have more experience than anyone to do with Lexus tunes ) every time I drive the ISF I give it a good flogging when ever the road clear, its a fun car to drive. Also I had a complete gearbox fluid and filter change, any GOOD autogearbox shop can do them but it will cost $500 I got the WS oil from Toyota $200 cheers.

The Apex-i Smart Throttle Controller reduces perceived lag as well. And it's very easy to install.

Yep got this installed, have to admit for the money its great mod. Still undecided whats the best mode. Most assume red but ive read purple boost is the more aggressive and sometimes id agree.

Yeah like everyone already stated if you push the throttle 100% and engage the kick down button it will shift to lowest gear possible. Anything less and the car will only downshift to as low as "need be"

I stick with red. The only problem I have with purple is it seems to overwork the transmission. You think it's busy in normal mode... purple really puts it to work.

I didn’t know this feature existed nor there was a little mash button under the foot feed. . Have 30,000 miles on mine and the pedal has never hit the button. It’s NEw In Box still Looking forward to spring to try this out and use that button dang it.

Yes, it is also known as a 'kickdown switch' (basically every other car has them, on this one its particularly stiff to press down). All it does is just downshift to the lowest possible gear, when in auto mode (I think it'll even do it in manual mode if you're in a high enough gear).
