Lou, I'd read every bit of your original thread on the DW's before opting to try them, as there were also a slew of positive reports from other reputable members: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...xtreme-dw.html

There are lots of mixed reviews on both the PSS and Conti, but both are widely heralded on countless forums as outstanding options in this category, with the PSS a step ahead in the dry, and the DW in the wet. After coming straight from the DW's to their "new and improved" replacement, I can report they're most certainly a much better tire. YMMV... pun intended!

Hopefully I'll have more to report after the SCCA event at CoTA in a couple weeks.

I hope the new compound stays quiet in a few thousand miles.

Negative reviews on PSS are like unicorns in my experience. I had 25k on my PSS and they were quieter than my Contis at 3k and handled just as good or better. Stiffer sidewalll on the PSS vs the last Contis.

Indeed, the PSS is a great tire... and damn well better be at such a premium!

yes, sidewall stiffness was addressed in the new model and was increased by something like 80% with marginal impact to comfort. Turn-in is improved substantially as a result.

Time will certainly tell on the rest!

Does anyone have experience on stock sized, PSS on the track? I'm upsized and I kind of want to go back down, but I'm not sure if its the specific brand I'm on.
