Price can depend on what brand of ceramic tint and how dark you are intending to go. Like Vitveet suggested, I'd go as dark as whatever is legal in your state. For NC, it's around 35% so I chose the closest available option in ceramic which was 40% for all 5 windows in 3M Crystalline. I also got my entire windshield tinted in 90% crystalline since the legal limit is 80%. I paid around $650 for this service at a local tint shop that custom cut the tint for each window so I received minimal gap. This service also came with a lifetime warranty from 3M.

I've had the tint for about a month and I'm extremely happy with how it rejects heat and the appearance. There are cheaper options available but I feel like you get what you pay for and in the long term, better heat and UV protection is worth it to keep your interior from aging. I intend to DD my F and keep it for a long time so the money was well spent.

I have 20% all the way around and I have 50% on front winshield. I also have this on my sequoia. I will never not do front windshield ever again. It keep alot of light out, makes sides look darker and it looks cleaner then the top strip on front shield.

My opinion you can get away with 20%. Never been pulled for tint. Also if you get pulled just roll all windows down. They don,t say chit. Also im in Charlotte, NC where cops suck!!!!

Curious.....^^^^^^......how does this affect your vision at night? I would consider 50% on the front windshield if it didn't affect my nighttime vision?

Can you post your ceramic tint? It has been a while since I've gotten a car tinted.. I remember paying $100 and $250 but I don't think they gave me options. Overall, the tints held up pretty well, never bubbling for the price. I just know there is the reflective tint, almost like a mirror which IMHO looks tacky but great for rejecting heat and for privacy.

Was it hard to have the windshield tinted with the rain sensor and what not near the rear view mirror? I know they just cut around it but it would bug me if it wasn't a tight cut and was noticeable. Think you could snap a quick pic?

not sure on brand of film used. The dealer had a guy that does it. Cost was 400, even tinted the moon roof.

I'm still debating on getting Huper Optik or 3M Ceramic. There's a Groupon in my area that will do the 4 windows and the rear for $249 (full price is $500) vs. HO @ $450 for 4 windows/rear. Decisions, decisions... I would like to do the sunroof and windshield as well, but that puts the HO at $725 total. Pricey!

$249 for all your windows coated in 3M ceramic is a steal if it is a reputable shop. Personally, I'd use that Groupon on that and save your money for other mods down the road.

Here is a couple pictures of my 3M Crystalline tint I recently had applied, it rejects heat extremely well and looks exceptional as well.

Hm... "Reputable." It has 4 stars on Yelp from 160 or so reviewers and I don't see any complaints about the tint work, only the electronics/stereo work (outsourcing the work and not being upfront about it, not fixing said issues, poor quality wiring). Some people were complaining about the company doing a bait and switch for the Groupon/Living Social deals but I'm not sure what that consists of. Another thing to note is that the owner is very responsive to online reviews of his shop (good and bad). Anyone leaving a bad review gets reprimanded on the review site and he even threatens legal action for libel, but he calls it slander haha. Some of the bad reviews and ensuing rebuttals are quite entertaining.

Got my windows tinted with Huper Optik Ceramic 40 all around, with the windshield at 50 and Huper Drei film on the sunroof. Compared to my Prius's tint, there is a noticeable difference. I will have to report back what film the Prius is using but it is not a bargain brand. It is getting hot now and even with the sunroof open to allow light in, the black interior is not burning hot (wearing shorts). Could be a placebo... but who knows. I paid $720 for it.

I have mine done with 50% and the vision isn't affected one bit, literally looks the same looking out of it as it did when there was no tint
