Default Built Engine Block

So who here has or done a built block on their ISF?
has any one installed forged rods, pistons, done any ported head work?

If so what was your reason for rebuilding your motor ? Seeing some nice forged pistons and rods being sold for the 2ur-gse which is what has me curious.

FYI, we are working on some 2UR-GSE engine builds right now. Want to get some experience under our belt before offering these engines as a product on our website, but should be something we will offer soon.

That's yet more money I need to save up to pay Rafi and Simon then! Lol.

Might as well just get my office to pay my salary cheques straight to RR-Racing!

No doubt another great addition to the plethora of amazing parts RR-Racing offers.

Pistons are cast...... don't know what else is forged though? In that thread above OP ringlands cracked on the drivers side and Rafi & Lobux weigh in on their thoughts about the 2UR-GSE motor internals.

in that case, what is the most hp that rotrex sc can support with its cfm delivery?

RCF pistons are not forged.

Our SC kit currently supports 530whp on pump gas. Any additional power requires higher octane fuel. We can also overspin the SC a bit, so combined with race gas I can see us making power in the high 500's at the wheels.

You are right, only the rods are forged, not the pistons.

Same as the isf. Both have forged components. The main reason I would upgrade an already stout engine is to lower compression and run more boost otherwise the gains won't be worth it.

Well the sema lc500 had parts developed for it engine build by Magnus Ohlaker and the team at dsport.

It's hard to find a G engine without forged rods and crank. No manufacturer sells forged pistons because they are too noisy when cold.

Those CP pistons don't have the proper crown design. The Toyota design is very deliberate and is essential to the direct injection working as intended.

Exactly... I get calls asking about those "CP" pistons on Ebay that are supposedly for the ISF, yet look nothing like the 2ur-gse pistons, nor do they even attempt to duplicate the crown pocket that is required for the direct injection. So I called CP and they told me that they have never seen a 2ur-gse piston, they don't make a 2ur-gse piston, and no one ever sent them a 2ur-gse piston for modelling.

That said, there are some OEM cars with forged pistons, particularly highly turbocharged 4 cylinders like the 4B11T (pistons are forged, rest of car is plastic Most of the OE forged pistons out there are made by Mahle and are 4032 alloy which is not as strong as 2600 series alloy but doesn't require as much piston to wall clearance.

The new "Voodoo" v8 in the Mustang GT500 is supposed to have forged 4032 pistons from Mahle.
