Default Door Key Oscillator question

I called the service department at two dealers and nobody knew. Does the Electronic Door Key Oscillator have to be programmed or is it plug and play? Thanks in advance!

TIS says plug and play. No programming required. Keys are programmed into the ECM.

and what does this oscillator actually do? I have an issue with comfort access not working on one of the doors and was suspecting that part.

please excuse me if it does not make any sense…

If the car responds to the key at all, the oscillator is working. It is essentially, the radio the key uses to communicate with the key itself. AFAIK, the comfort access is on the driver's side only.
