Sliced leather... insurance?
Got into my car with a box cutter in my back pocket sliced the leather on my drivers seat... of course, i have comprehensive insurance, through statefarm. My comp deductible is 0. Question is, do you think my insurance cover this repair or replacement? My concern is inquiring about a claim, and having them deny it and raise my rates because of even a potential claim? Which I've heard of before... Any thoughts?? My seats are Alpine White, like new, so I'm afraid of getting the leather "repaired" and having it look bad, i'd only want to replace the leather with new OEM. The question is do i just pay for it myself, or have insurance cover it (if they would cover).

Personally, I would not make a claim on my insurance. In this day and age, your rate will likely go up. From what I gather, there are some very reputable and skilled leather repair professionals in the marketplace today. Give them a try and if it doesn't turn out to your liking, then possibly discuss the matter with your insurance agent. Most agents will tell you if your rate will go up and advise you on making a claim or not. I think some have used this company in past postings on the forum ( https://www.fibrenew.com ).
