ISF headlight went bad..
Curious if any others have had issues with their HID lights on their 08 or any other year really? I have a 08 with 80k.

OEM bulbs die. It's common. I replaced mine with Philips bulbs and never looked back. Been working like magic.
Symptoms: Turn on lights, both light up, then soon after one goes dark. Turn lights off and on quickly, both lights good again, then one goes out. Pretty typical when one bulb decides to go on welfare instead of working for a living.

I just had this on my 2012 with just 42k miles so yes I too was disappointed. I checked the dealer and they wanted something in three figures $ to fix it. I hadn't done it on this car before so I found a good YouTube on bulb replacement, bought a Toyota OEM bulb on eBay for about $28, and did it myself in about a half hour. I'd say the hardest part is carefully removing those little plastic clips on all the engine cover parts.
also i guess you have to be careful of the number of lumens of the bulb you buy if you just do one, or you can end up with one bulb a slightly different color temperature than the other one.

Buy two bulbs - you are dead on the money - they will look different because HIDs "burn in" and they will never look the same if you just replace one.

Thx Lobux, yeah I was thinking of just buying a bulk quantity of those clips. I did one headlight bulb and I was pretty careful to look for the OEM part #, but the new bulb is a slightly cooler temperature (a bit more blue) than the old one. Does $28 sound about right for that bulb on eBay?

Yes, the headlight in my 08 IS-F started flickering last year around 60k miles.
I bought two new bulbs and was surprised at how brighter and whiter than the original OEM bulbs.
I bought mine from Amazon link below:
When you get them, you can verify that they are indeed legit Phillips bulbs as well on Philillps site.
Look up headlight replacement on the forum, as if I remember I had to remove the air box and pull out the wiper fluid fill tube, it was pretty easy.

yeah like said above the bulbs do eventually die, they don't last forever. I just had my driver side go out about 2 weeks ago. I got new 5k bulbs(since they didn't offer 4300k) for low beams and 3k hid kit for the fogs from xenondepot and been good every since, I did the same ones on my old IS350 and my old LS400
