Certainly possible. But I've had my headers for maybe 5 years with zero issues until (in theory) I added the splitter and continue to run faster and hotter on the track each season.
No regrets

I forgot your tuned. I’ve had a couple of codes regarding slow signals, which the tune doesn’t alleviate. I wondered if temp changes affected it, but your in the salt belt too, so that removes that as an issue.

So I'm going to have my shop replace both the AF sensor and and extender this time. Does anyone know the easiest way to swap out the passenger side extender without basically doing the equivalent labor of a header install?

Getting the clip undone is hardest part, the reinstall is actually pretty easy.

I pulled the battery, battery tray, and steering ecu. You should be able to get an eye on the clip behind the head. At this point get a long flathead screwdriver and an extra set of hands to pull on the O2 extension as you press on the clip release with the screwdriver. You may find the wiring harness and fuel lines running across the firewall to be in the way. If you think you need to move them around be aware the plastic clips that hold them to the firewall will likely break if not extremely careful. I did break one or two of the little tabs that holds the wiring harness, so it's probably not as tight as it should be but it's not flopping around either.

Update on my P2241, just like lexicon, my CEL immediately went away when I installed the new O2 sensor previously. Just today, CEL popped and it's the same code (P2241). it's been about 1.5months since I got the O2 sensor replaced, but only around 600 miles since then.

I'm going to replace my extension and install a new sensor.

Are you tuned?
CEL went away for the past month as I was waiting for the correct sensor part to arrive (they sent the driver side). So I still have replaced anything. But since it comes and goes, I'm wondering if the tune neats tweaking.
I'll be adding a vented hood soon as a precaution as well.

Yep, I'm tuned with RR Racing's tune. I cleared the code and drove about 20 miles, and the CEL didn't light up. It's a bit inconsistent for sure.

If it's really the tune, then it's even weirder because you and I both didn't experience this until recently (myself, for about 1.5 years).

Had both driver and passenger side O2 extension replaced out of caution. Here's what the passenger side extension looked like; the crimping of the connector and the wire came loose.

Do we feel the extensions are low quality, or is this par for the course for wiring in high heat areas?

I've never seen a failure like that on an OEM harness. This wasn't properly crimped. Tools for that task are pretty pricey when you're talking industrial/aircraft quality.

My installer did make a comment that the harness looked to not be very well made. Trusted him, but I was a bit surprised by his comment, but I suppose he's not wrong if the wire and connector seperated.

Remember, we're looking at microamps here on the signal side. Even a slightly bad connection is going to make the data bad. If the problem is on the heater side, it's not much better.

Extenders wouldn't be OEM would they? Mine were supplied by PPE when I originally installed the headers. And I ordered a new set from them to replace the old ones I. Hopes of eliminating the codes.
I agree with Lobux. My code comes and goes which seems to imply finicky amperage and tolerances.

No...these weren't OEMs, these came from PPE. I don't even think they have OEM extensions; would be great if there was an option to use existing OEM O2 extension.
