I went with non OEM since I was paying out of pocket. I had a rock chip right in the middle of my view sight on the windshield. Although I had it repaired and it cut down on some of the distraction it still had 2 crack lines on each side which when the sun hit them you may was well of looked into the sun yourself.

However when I had the windshield replaced I also had purchased those 2 side mouldings from Lexus and had them used.

 

Cover up to $697? Who's your insurance? I was the guy who said the bill said $1600, but I only had to pay my deductible which was $500.

 

USAA, and windshield replacements are free in FL. I have no idea... still waiting...

So I got my OEM glass installed today (free). Looks much better than the cheap glass safelite put on the last time and they also didn't damage my car. They also pointed out all the ways that safelite had installed the prior windshield incorrectly (they pointed out that I probably heard road noise from a specific spot before I even mentioned it).

Has anyone done the UV tint on the windshield before?

Oh yeah and they said the cost was around 700-800 parts so I am not sure where that 1600$ comes from lol

 

so yeah the field tech did a **** job on my install.

he put too much adhesive, so windshield doesnt sit flat enough - so the trim near the top doesnt sit flat enough.

also my rain sensor is falling off.

Safelite repair- Safelite repair - Safelite repair. Taking it to one of their repair centers once the adhesive has dried.

 

Heh sorry, I specifically avoided them because the prior owner told me he had to fight them over $800 when they replaced the windshield (their lever thing destroyed the trim). Did you get OEM glass?
