Default Sound Deadening Rear Seat with Subwoofer

Currently, the trunk has sound deadening with a JL Sub.

I am trying to reduce exhaust noise (the exhaust sound does not matter when the music is turned on) by installing sound deadening and carpet underlay near the rear seat.

I am planning to put some sound deadening and carpet underlay on the bottom of the seats and the floor of the rear seats.

I will put on sound deadening on the top part of the rear seats where the stock ML sub-woofer was (sub removed and a hole exist) to prevent vibration from certain song when the JL Sub is on.

Will sound deadening with carpet underlay the top part and the back of the rear seats reduce the sound of the JL Sub and not just the Exhaust?

What exhaust do you have, and are you running headers as well? The sound deadening will help, but if you're running a system with zero cats, you'll probably need to add a few hundred pounds of that stuff to no longer hear it. And you should do the entire trunk as well. You're probably better off adding in resonators to your exhaust system. Cheaper and less hassle.

Add some high flow cats and resonators and you'll be better off than dumping all that weight into the car completely negating your performance mods. You'd have to sound proof from the firewall to the trunk to get rid of all that rumble!

Don't want to lose performance.. not considering high flow cat, resonators may be an option.. but have to do a research.. most of the annoy sound is coming from the rear.. near the muffler. The sound deadening is not that heavy.
