Have a 7am appt tomorrow for new PSS in 235/40/19 and 265/35/19. Will post pics when they are done on 2011 stock suspension since I haven't seen pics of this combo before. Having the alignment done as well for good measure and already made sure they rebuild the TPS sensors.

Can't wait for the fresh rubber.

Yeah, with the 2011 wheels I wanted to be a bit more conservative on width than the 245s, I wanted a bit more sidewall height compared to stock rather than less, and I wanted to keep the steering from feeling too much heavier with the 245s. The 265/35 rears and 235/40 fronts are both exactly 0.3" greater than stock diameter compared to the 245/35 and 275/30 set up that are o.3 and o.5" less than stock,respectively.

Interestingly the 265 Porsche OEM model I went with has the same tread width as the traditional 275/30 tire.

Not long now.....leaving in about 30 minutes for a 7am appt. Hope the techs are awake and not hungover

Sadly the weather here in MD is not cooperating. Rain snow mix killing the vision of testing out the new tires. And the car was spotless clean to begin today.

But, the install was not without drama as I watched the tech attempt to provide a "courtesy" check of the air filter!! As soon as I saw him pop the hood (which took him a couple of minutes and some funny expressions to figure out how to pop it) and started towards the air filter box I walked right into the garage area and kindly informed him that he didn't need to touch the engine area to replace the tires, that tge while tube needed to be removed and that nothing was easy to work on in there. Then, the compressor in the shop wouldn't start, mind you I'm up there at 7am....they finally got a small back up in that allowed them to do one job at a time, but couldn't get the car up to do the alignment.

Aye, nothing is easy. And these guys are generally pretty good. I'll pick it up shortly and at least get to look at them today...

thats going to be a tall bubbly tire. PSS run ride already . youll see what i mean. it will look weird.

After much deliberation, I am happy to report that the 235/40 and 265/35 Porsche NO PSS combination is a success! Well, at least from an appearance and ride perspective. Weather is crappy, so no commentary on handling dynamics, but the tires look great (will post pics later)--it would take a trained eye to notice any difference over stock and it in no way looks odd or bubbly. And, at least from first impression, the bit of extra sidewall seems to make for a slightly more compliant ride.

As a bit of a pioneer into this size of PSS, I have to admit that I opened my eyes slowly in case they didn't look correct, but overall I have to imagine that these sizes on the 2011 rims must look equivalent or better than the 245/275 combo. The 265 Porsche NO has the same tread width as the 275/30 PSS and it looks perfect, so I'm sure the 275 would look fine as well. I'm thinking however that the 245 would hang over the front a bit too much, as the 235 looks to be about what it wants to hold.

Anyways, looking forward to it NOT snowing in the middle of March and enjoying the new rubber.

I started to cringe when reading the tech started opening up the hood. I'm glad things turned out good for you. At the end of the day, it's your ride! You dictate what you want done. I don't suppose they utilized Nitrogen to fill up the tires? Post pics when you get a chance.

Yeah, that's exactly why I stuck around for awhile. The manager of the place is a great guy and highly knowledgable, but once the car is in with a tech you cross your fingers. At least there was no visible damage on the wheels, etc. I had a set of Volks on my G coupe and the last time I got tires there were pry marks on every chrome lip! Unreal.

My buddy is a GTR mechanic and does all of my work on our Infinitis and Nissans, however, the one thing he despises is putting on low profile tires, so Indont bother him with those. But, he's about the only person I trust fully to do a top notch job. I probably should've just made him do these tires as well

No nitrogen that I know of, but I've never run nitrogen before and haven't had issues to date.

It should warm up this week to get some drive time. Like I said, rears look perfect, fronts are not quite as wrapped as stock, but again I really couldn't imagine going to a 245 on the 2011 front rims.

Oh, and it turns out that the tire place inflated each tire to about 31psi......sigh.....doesn't anyone even bother to know about the line of work they are in? These pics are at the 31psi before bringing them up to 36.

Next I'm sure a TPS will start leaking....

Yes, the TPS will start crying about it. It happens to me usually colder days if the car has sat around for a while and lost air pressure. Fill them up, drive a bit the the light goes off.
