Default Possible IS-F in the Future

Greetings!

I have been lurking on this site for a while now, gathering info and building up my knowledge on the ISF. I finally decided to actually join the forum today because the ISF has officially made it to the short list of replacements for my current car. The lease runs out in September so I have plenty of time to find the "right one" Based on what i have read, the focus is going to be on the 2010/2011 model years due to the LSD, bluetooth updates, etc..... the budget is the trickier part because I want to keep it between 30K-35K with the stronger emphasis on the 30 ; )

I have also noticed some 2012s creeping in 40K with ok miles so may see if there is leeway with the prices.

I think outstanding maintenance, those lovely 3% NC taxes and possible tire replacements will need to factor in the budget as well. then of course upgraded lower control arms, Toms GT shifter and some type of exhaust.

So with the enthusiasm set to high, I was wondering if there were any forum members in the Charlotte area that would want to meet and shoot the @#$% over a couple of beers and let me pick there brains and show me around the car? First beers would be on me naturally!

You can find a 2011+ for 30-35 dependent on mileage.

Be happy your state charges only 3% taxes, come to cali and you'll be paying more than 3 times that. But at least its always sunny here..

Maintainence might cost a little more, but it's not that much more. For instance oil changes on this car uses roughly 3-4 more quarts than a standard is250, but yeah other things like changing out the diff, brake fluid, changing brakes etc are fairly easy diys. The tires do cost a pretty penny though.

I'm in Asheville, a couple hours west, but I know we have some Charlotte members here. I can't remember the username but we just had a newbie come here and purchased a ISF from Hendricks Lexus there in Charlotte.

Thanks guys!

Ill keep you posted on how things go..... i actually checked out a 2010 at the Fiat dealership of all places. They wouldn't let me test drive it because it was a "high performance model" and they wanted to keep the miles low. Funny thing is, they couldn't find the keys bc they were on the Finance managers desk as he had it signed out for the weekend. That and the Carfax showing oil changes being done at Chevy and Suzuki dealerships permanently put this one off the list!
