Default Best IS F Performance Tire?

Its soon time for me to take my winter rims/tires off and put on my summer rims/tires. My tires are nearly done and will be buying a new set soon. I was curious what is the best performance tire for the F. I still have the stock rims and money isn't an issue, I just want to get the best performance tire for my car. Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

Do they make the Pilot Sport Cup 2 in ISF sizes Ex....245,255 Front & 275-295 Rear? Also how much are they going for (average)?

Yep. Pretty cheap, 340 or under doe 275 and lesser. Quite pricey when you step up to 295

Was thinking to try this sport cup 2 as well , avoid having 2 sets of rims and tires for the track. Only thing is I don't see them lasting long. This is the oem tire choice for the new gt350r and some Porsche 911s . So it's more track focused and daily driving friendly .

If you don't track your F i would just stick with the PSS it also does the job quite well. And if you go to the track not so often it's still a very capable tire when new .

If you drive alot then Continental dws tire is great for all weather and last forever.

I really like my Hancook V12 Evo 2 tires. Very grippy

WRONG! Yokohama AD08R. Now, if you want them to last, this wear rating of 180 isn't your friend. They'll outstick just about anything around a track. I do have about 5000 miles on mine already, and LOVE these tires.

Here's a review/comparison from I8ABMR: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...re-wheels.html

If money is no issue, Hoosier R7's. I drive on these puppies at the track and are incredible. They are also DOT approved.

^ This. You've got to give more information on what you think is "the best".
Comparing Hoosier R7s to Continental DWS is back to comparing apples to llamas.

Without any info I'll recommend a set of Toyo R888s. They are the best because you'd be hard pressed to find a non-slick tire that has more lateral grip, that makes them the best!

They also will wear out in less than 5,000 miles, and you may lose fillings, bruise kidneys, or need earplugs due to the harsh noisy ride.

I just picked up a set of Continental DWS06s (245-35 F & 275-30 R) for $910 out the door (obv install will add a little more to this total). The Treadwear rating is an insane 560 AA A and they have a great review on Tire Rack:

Is the OP looking for best performing street tires, going to the track, or a foreseeable mixture of street and track usage?

Michelin PSS would still be my choice on the street. Wear rating is good, it's performance sets the benchmark for others in the same field, and it can function on the track (not for long, but it can).

But for those who are trying to go with one tire for street and track, there will will be compromises. I'm not saying it's not doable, but you won't get the best performance out of a street and track combo on the track. Michelin Sport Cup 2 has a stiffer sidewall and can promote a harsher ride both in feel and sound, from what I have experienced in others' rides, but it is more of a potent street/track tire than PSS. The UTOG represents that with a 180. The tire won't last long, so if you want the performance, it's certainly a great option. Just know that it will need replacing far sooner than a PSS

I currently use Michelin PSS for the street and Nitto NT01 for the track. It might be a bit costly, but in my account of track time and how fast I'll wear a tire that can handle both activities, it was worthwhile to go with a dedicated track set up. A huge online discount incentive does help soften the blow on the wallet, and that comes multiple times a year, so keep a lookout.

180 tread wear isn't that bad. I mean Bridgestone S04 is 220 and people got a ton of miles out of that. RE 11 is 180 also I think. Decent amount miles from those too
