Default Hit a pothole this morning.....

....turning onto the freeway on-ramp. There is some construction going on there right now. Driver front tire went flat a few miles up the road. Had to put on the doughnut in 32 degree weather. I just bought those PSS tires a few months back too. Man what a bummer.

That sucks but on a positive note at least it was only a damaged tire!

I had this happen a long time ago in one of my Hondas. I went and took pictures, measured the pothole and sent them to the state. They bought me 4 new wheels and one tire. I cracked the rim and had to buy the set. It took some time but they understood.

You can at least try. By the way NC road and highways suck

Thanks for the positive responses. I think I will leave work early and have my rim checked out. Hopefully I can get to the pothole and take some pictures. Might be hard to do so with measuring tape though as it is at the turn to an on-ramp. I tried looking at the wheel before i put i tin the trunk and didn't notice any cracks, but it was still dark out so who knows.

Check to see if it might be bent as well. Wheels tend to bend rather crack.
I've also heard the 'county' where the pothole is located could cover you for the damaged wheel or tire.
Please keep us updated, since I live in Cali as well.

I just took a look at the wheel and tire in the sun. Found a small tear in the sidewall where it impacted and pinched against the lip of the rim.....but no bend in it. I will try to get a pic of the pothole later today as well.

At least it was just a tire. I hit one a couple months back. Tire and wheel were fine. Windshield...not so much. Started a crack that spread all the way from driver side a pillar to the passenger side pillar.

Depending on where you purchased the tires, you may have some road hazard coverage that will get you a replacement. I had a similar situation a few years ago in my IS350. I'd purchased a new set of tires through the Lexus dealer less than six months earlier. I brought the car to the dealer to get the damaged tire replaced and didn't get charged a dime.

Turns out the Michelins do come with road hazard coverage! Had to order it though, but it will be here today. I will only have to pay for mount and balance. Also....the damn pothole was already filled in this morning!

That's like good new and bad news. That's awesome michellin is covering you and the bad news they were in a hurry to fill the pot hole before u can make a claim, but they filled it already so that's another good news...

Check your sunroof for dimples around the corners. When you hit something that hard, it can flex the chassis and make dimples at the corners of the sunroof. AMHIK.

Well I'm glad your tires had road hazard protection.

Hit a huge piece of scrap metal in my girl's CR-V on the 5 right before Auto Center Drive and I took photos and filed a report. Same piece blew out 4 other people's tires.
City reimbursed for a new OEM tire but it took a while.

Luckily I don't see any dimples around my sunroof. I just had my FIGS lower control arm bushings installed recently and needed an alignment anyway. After it was all said and done.... I walked out of the shop only paying for an alignment and a mount/balance of the new tire. Glad there was no damage to the rim....they are not cheap.
