Hi Guys, I have a small problem. About a month ago my touchscreen stopped working. After searching the forums I found the post called Frozen Navigation Screen fix DIY. I decided to just buy a new digitizer instead of messing with trying to silver solder something.
Anyways, everything went perfectly, fairly easy fix if you take your time, but when I went on a drive my navigation is just lines. Everything else seems to be working okay. I can now use the touchscreen again which is nice, but no navigation kind of sucks. I don't really use it, but since it automatically defaults to navigation I'd like to get this figured out.
Before I rip into the dash again I was wondering if anyone had seen this. It would be nice if I knew what I was looking for. Any ideas?
Thanks for the reminder to check the 2is section. It looks like there were about 3 or 4 threads about this. Unfortunately only one of them was able to get it fixed by making sure the connections were secure. I'll try that this weekend.
This was a common issue when i replaced my screen. The digitizer is defective. If you bought it online and it's not too late ask for a replacement.
However, check your connections first.
I just replaced the digitizer because my touchscreen stopped working. Are you saying that my replacement digitizer is bad? I can now use the touchscreen again with the new digitizer.
My touch screen works, backup camera, etc. however, when accessing the navigation and information tab I get the screen with lines. I always set my screen to off and only use it to control my fan. Being the touch screen works I'm wondering if this another issue? I did pull out unit a few months ago to unplug some aftermarket by-pass units.
Took the dash apart and saw that I had missed a small wire with a white connector on one end and a blue connector on the other. Plugged it in and Navigation is working again!
Took a picture so anyone else that has this same problem (saw a few in the 2IS forum)
