I have a question on these rims. A seller is selling some 18x8.5 with 35 offset Enkei RPF1. Will these fit and clear the calibers on our F?

Yes, but they won't look that good. This is a square setup?

I don't know about the Enkei wheel but a lexus OEM 10 spoke 18x8.5 IS350 rim will not clear the front caliper.

Don't know about the 8.5, the 9.5 width for sure fits. Hold off for something wider, more meat on the wheel = more fun on the throttle

Your question regarding 18x8.5 35 offset comprises 2 parts.

I have Volks VR G25 rims 18x8.5J offset 35 in the front. They clear the calipers comfortably.

However, you are asking about the Enkei RPF1. Even with the same width and offset, the answer is....maybe.

The issue here is not so much about the width and/or offset. It is about how far the spokes extend inwards.

Thanks everyone for chiming in. I am curious to see if downsizing the oem 19s to 18s and feel any difference in acceleration. I'm planning on taking my isf this Saturday for test n tune and im wondering if the 18s will help.

Well.. assuming we're talking about the same wheels, a set of light weight 18's would be lighter than its 19" counterpart. So if that's what your aiming for, the answer is yes.

I know a few owners have attempted mounting RPF1s on their Fs, and while they are very economical in price and offer substantial weight savings, I believe all have chosen the PF01s, also by Enkei, because they do clear the front and rear calipers. With your offsets, there's a chance that even if it does clear, it will be very minimal at best.

18s do offer better tire choices and will more than likely be lighter than 19" wheels, but after I've researched countless wheels, brands, offsets, and anything associated with choosing aftermarket wheels, to me at least, it was more important to get clearance with the calipers, even if the offset was higher. I, too, am after a set of 18s solely for the track, so I can understand wanting to go with something lightweight and still very structurally strong.

Best of luck if you choose to get this wheel set up or if you go a different route.

Definitely faster acceleration

The acceleration / throttle response is indeed faster.

The ride is slightly softer because of the taller sidewalls.

I'm thinking of going to 18" wheels myself. I think they look the best on this size car. If the 9.5" RPF1s cleared the brakes I'd be all over those.

The 18" enkei rpf1 I test fitted once did not fit as they are a drop centre design and hit the caliper . Better luck with 19"s in the rpf1 .

Resurrecting a slightly older thread as I'm having trouble finding an answer via search. Looking to pick up some Wedssport SA-55M as light18X8.5 track wheels with +50 offset (assuming I actually end up going to the track, but here is to summer dreaming). Width wise they should fit (square set-up so I can rotate tires, though may go 9" square all around), but will the offset work? Spacers?

You'd need a 5mm spacer for the front to correct. If these are your track wheels, that's all you need to do. If you want them to be stylish and "flush" or poke, you'll need more spacer, but it will only compromise your suspension geometry.

I'm going to use my magic card Monster Thread Reborn on this one.
Done countless of searching thru the threads here, and I'm seeking staggered setup for the F in front 18x8.5 35 255/40/18 and for the rear 18x9.5 38 285/35/18. with maybe some weds sa72r since the sa15r are discontinued

I like when the rear wheels concave more than the front. Reason I don't go with a 18x10 is because not a lot of wheels within price range that I liked; make them that width they skip 10 and go straight to 10.5 from 9.5 and the wider the wheel the wider the tire I need to achieve the look I want

Any opinions? or should I just go with a square setups. 18x9.5 38 square seems to be successful with the F here in almost any wheel

I have yet to see anyone run a 9.5 et 38 on here. I have questioned if this offset will clear with zero feedback. There is one member running a 40 offset, but he had previously rolled his quarters and so he cannot speak as to fitment. Most squared setup members are running 45 offsets.
