Weak Trunk Shocks?
Im another that can vouch for Lift Support Depot. Im based in Oz so not many local options besides OEM.
My Hood strut is also worn and i have to help lift it up so decided to get both sets (front and rear).
Lexus wants to charge me $235AU for the Hood struts and $252AU for the boot struts = $487AU but ended up paying $141US for both from Lift Support depot. Even with our crappy AU $ it was just over $200AU, less than 1/2 the price.
Got it all installed during a service last week and its made a massive difference. The hood one has a slight bounce to it on opening but i expect that to settle in a little and the boot ones is much easier to lift and holds position well. It no longer slams shut when closing, more like a soft close.
In hindsight, i dont know why i put up it for over 3 yrs as it just became the norm for me. Glad ive done it now. I did read some bad reviews online about some Ebay ones not lasting so yeah it pays to seek a good alternative. Im sure OEM is the best but not necessary

At RockAuto, I ordered 2 of these SACHS / SG329063 -> for the Font Hood.
$12.14 each plus Tax & Shipping came to $35 bucks for the pair.
The Lexus OEM ones also made by Stabilus, even with online discount they where still $65 each

Put these in about a couple weeks ago:

@Joe Z Do you happen to know the part number for the trunk shocks?
Or maybe listed in a size they make..??
So far I only found mentioned in here: TuffSupport part # 611746
(member posted premature failure)
Another part made & sold on the LiftSupport Depot site as their own product..
(Lobuxracer mentions still working fine)
And just found another company called Perfect Fit Group.
Lift Support - Trunk Lid (Driver and Passenger Side), Set of 2
Part Number: SET-REPL610711-2 $25.86
^^ So far appears to be a good price for the pair, but I don't know how good the quality is..

I replaced my trunk shocks with OEMs 2 years ago if I remember correctly; and they're blown. Its also funny, that I didn't even notice until I saw this thread which says how I've become accustomed to the heavy lifting.
I'll give the Liftsupport a try, thanks for the suggestion.
P.s. I open my trunk several times daily.

Lift Supports Depot
Lift Supports DepotBut thanks anyways.
Follow up to my last post.
After contacting TuffSupport for an exchange I was given the run around and decided to tell them to pound sand (yeah not exactly, but pretty close)..
Was seriously considering Lift Support Depot, but considering I'd have to pay shipping (to Canada can be costly, especially if they fail then I'd have to pay return on faulty parts etc.) on a part that seems to fail prematurely. The dealer offered me new aftermarket trunk shocks with the same warranty as Lexus brand parts for a fraction of the price. Decided to take the plunge as they'd cover replacements for up to one year regardless of who installs the parts (same as Lexus brand parts).
Now if (more like "when") they fail within a one year period, all I have to do is return them to my local Lexus dealer for exchange.
Considering the current aftermarket ISG branded (International Suspension Group) parts have the same part number as TuffSupports' 611746, I'm thinking this is just a repackaged strut built by the same manufacturer who made my current useless set. Hopefully the premature failure on my current set was a fluke, but I'm not holding my breath.
At least I have the local Lexus dealer who'll back me up.
Installing today and will update this thread with any further developments.
