Weak Trunk Shocks?
I used a set off amazon - they work awesome! It was $29.90 for them. They're much stronger

Found a set of "TUFFSupport" shocks for the trunk on ebay. Install was a breeze! I honestly didn't expect it to all go so easily.
Only part I had an issue with, was compressing the new shocks to fit. But when I realized all I had to do was remove the rubber stoppers on the trunk lid, it all worked like a charm!
Many claim that the lower priced shocks are "inferior" for this reason (being slightly too long), but that's nonsense (if you know this little trick).
Overall I'd recommend this repair/upgrade to anyone!
Relatively cheap, and no more trunk slamming on it's own.

Shocks are now officially garbage.
Went to the market last week and thought my GF was slammed the trunk closed (arrgh!) turns out the shocks are now officially trashed.
Today while loading groceries the trunk lid seemed far heavier than usual. They were strong enough to keep the lid up in the fully up position. But the "soft close" it used to do is now gone and the trunk just slams shut. On a car we use once per week, that's very sad.
Just goes to show the importance of buying quality Lexus brand parts the first time!

Climate is 50F to 70F (mild).
Car is totally stock (06 is350)
OEM strut might last longer, but I wasn’t impressed TBH. I had mine replaced whenever I last posted in this thread and by now I’ve noticed for some time that the trunk struts probably need to be replaced again.
My Lift Supports Depot struts have been working just fine for some years now on both ends of the car. Sounds like the ones you got were either poorly made or individually defective. My experience would not suggest paying Lexus pricing when there are reliable alternatives.
Another one for Lift Supports Depot with zero issues on the trunk. Both my IS350s had very heavy trunks as well as my F so when I replaced them I honestly couldn't believe it was like a normal trunk.
