Battery Voltage
Hey guys
I just installed a system in my 09 isf and i notice my battery voltage is at 13v at idle and driving. This seems low to me, as im used to seeing 13.8v+ on my other cars. I have had the car for 2 years and even before the system, i have had the battery die on me once a year. The dealer replaced it for free and I have asked if the alternator is bad because its only putting out 13v and they said that this car only puts out 13v...is this a correct statement? What voltage are you guys getting and is this an issue I need to solve?

I have the same issue with my 09. I replaced the battery in 3/15. Autozone scanned it an told me it's the alternator. It has gone dead but it's only in the winter when I drive it much less. As a temp fix I installed a Battery Tender for the colder months. I have a rebuilt alt from Rock Auto that I will put in and see the results.
yeah my car wasnt starting a few weeks ago and i jump started it and went to autozone and they said the alternator was bad. So i was driving back home and the navi and power steering and everything was freaking out because i guess there wasnt enough power. So i took it to the dealership the next day and they said it was just a bad battery and replaced it and that was that. I just wanted to see if in fact this car only does put out 13.0v at idle
Another observation that I made today was that I noticed on a cold start, it showed 13.4v and within 30 seconds was back to 13.0. Then when I revved it up, from idle to 5k rpm the voltage still remained the same. Something seems a little off.
My car is under warranty so if I can prove its an alternator then I can have it fixed for free at the dealer
