Hi

My cars lost its induction noise at 3600 rpm upwards seems the 2nd intake flap is not opening and the vacuume is keeping the flap closed.

With the engine off it opens and with engine on it closes.

Is something not triggering the vacuum to stop so it opens?

Any help appreciated

My first recommendation is to check the vacuum hose and see if it's still attached. It may had been accidentally disconnected while driving.

Did you recently relace the airfilter? I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the bottom of the intake box was unhinged..as in not tightly sealed.

First check the airbox to be sure it is sealed as Vervish says above. Then check the VSV and ECM. Everything else in the system is working if it opens and closes on engine start and stop. Odds are really good if it was working and now it isn't, the airbox is the culprit.

Thanks for the replies! Air box all sealed fine, hoses attached ok no sign of leaks, not sure how I check vcv or ecm but it's as if the vcv is not working I.e stoping the vaccum?

Can you buy the silver thing where the tubes connect?

17308-38010 covers everything from the manifold to the VSV. Might be a cracked check valve too.
