Default Just installed Takeda Intake

Hello, I installed a takeda intake onto my 09 isf. Overall I was very excited to hear about it snapping up to the stock box! When I received the product I was very disappointed in its craftsmanship. By the weld it wasn't cleaned up on the pipe. Metal shavings were hanging and I had to clean them up. The fitment of the takeda doesn't really line up with the stock box. There is gaps all around and big exposed spot.

Need peoples opinion on this setup and any recommendations.

The stock box out performs all aftermarket boxes. Your better off just getting an elbow from joez. its been discussed numerous times.

You should be able to return it If the craftmans ship is that bad.

Another alternative is the HPS silicone intake tube. It's basically the same thing and should not get as hot as the Joe Z pipe, which may help.

+1 - I too have the Joe Z PTS exhaust (LOVE IT!!!) and had planned on getting the Joe Z intake (pipe) as well but like you couldn't find one. Ended up with the HPS and am very pleased with it. I believe Joe Z himself said he had originally planned to go with silicone for his unit but the cost to mass produce was higher than he expected - but don't quote me on that unless he does At the end of the day unless you want a "matching set" (intake & exhaust) the HPS will meet you needs just fine

I have one of the first Takeda Intakes, and I like it a lot. The first ones only came in a shiny chrome finish. I have since had mine powder coated black. The workmanship on mine is quite good. Your's is not the first complaint I've heard about workmanship issues on later models. That really is a shame since, IMHO, the design concept is quite good.

I like mine also, which has the textured black powdercoat finish. No fitment issues and it sounds great. It was actually on the car when I purchased though.

If I had the stock intake I'm not sure I would go with takeda or anything for that matter given there have never been any significant and consistent gains reported with them.
