Hi chaps. Some advice needed. My rear left suspension is sitting just under 1.5cm's lower than rear right. Did go over a bump. Car has done 58k miles and its a 2008 model.

Is it most likely to be shock? Could it be anything else? Can't see any oil leaking at all.

Not sure a blown shock would cause it to sag. Interested in hearing from those who know.

Could it be caused by the additional weight added by the driver?

 

No one in the car when I took the measurements.

It's the rear left that is sagging not the rear right. Just wondering what other component it may be if it's not shock.

^^^^You have a RH Drive vehicle, not a LH drive like us yanks. Also, shocks don't control the height of the car, the springs do.

Indeed, so would a knock effect the spring and result in the sagging? Been reading up and it does seem very unlikely it's the shock.

Is the spring the most likely culprit? If so, can you just replace one or would you need to replace both rears?
