Default Double check my pricing on a 2011 ISF

Thanks to all of you for the wealth of knowledge you've created on this website, I have learned so much about this machine. I've been looking at the ISF since 2007 when it announced but needed to wait until I purchased a house and got everything else in order before taking the plunge. Been looking for about 7 months.

Heres the deal

11 ISF w/ NAV/Sunroof/ML Sound
9k Miles
$43500

NADA tells me the car is worth nearly 50k, but thats a retail price. It's the color I want, am I getting the deal I want? Should I wait? There were asking about 3000 more.

MRW I found the car

If the car is accident free and in great condition, that is a REALLY good deal.

The carfax shows no accidents. I plan on a pre-purchase inspection at a lexus dealer near the dealer that is selling it.

Anything specific I should be looking at?

They should be able to identify any issues for sure. I believe the dealerships also have access to more detail in CARFAX reports, so if they are willing to take a peak at their CARFAX account it might benefit you as well. I had a dealership somehow pull up more detail in a report than the one I had obtained online, which is why I'm guessing their CARFAX access is different.

Carfax is sketchy at best. My 2006 IS350 had an accident with "moderate" damage shown when all that happened was the rear bumper cover got scratched. I lost $3k on my trade-in for my F because of it. Total BS. Others have had cars truly heavily damaged and Carfax shows absolutely nothing.

I would not use Carfax as a selection criteria. The data is junk.

So the dealer took the car to a Lexus location and had the PPI. Turns out the Carfax is clean but the AutoCheck (owned by experian) showed frame damage.

The PPI came back showing the unit must have been run off the road at some point but there was no damage to the car except for a few clips on the side skirts being ripped off. The lexus dealer said the car is perfect except for those clips and scratches on the underside of bumpers, etc..

I was able to negotiate the price down another 500 bucks, 43000 it is! Purchase my flight tickets and hotel. Will update with pics!

ISF!
