You can tap the harness at the amp (which is what rickna posted above) or run wire from your woofers for audio signals but it will have to converted via a LC2i, Cleansweep, bit10, etc. it's pretty much a straight forward/basic set up.

I wouldn't let bestbuy touch my car but that's just me.

You don't need a clean sweep It's one of your options to convert your signal. The cheapest option is the lc2i which most seem to have problems with. I used the lc2i and ran my signal directly from my factory subwoofer with no issues.

One of the issues was the bass drop off at high volume. I read a post saying the solution was to put a 12 ohm 100 w resistor across the + & - inputs. on the lc2i.

I'm doing same thing right now, is there (1) or (2) pairs of wires going to sub ( ML) and plan on running the LC2i, had the Scosche SLC4 loc and the bass don't seem right with it.

There are only 2 wires for the ML sub (pos/neg). You need to bridge them on the lc2i terminals to boost the signal. The accubass **** helps with the bass drop off at higher volumes. It's all in the install manual.

In this case I got a aftermarket sub which is a jl w6 don't know how it would work lc2i is a 2 channel device that holds 400 watts is that compatible with my aftermarket amp which is a jl 500/1 amp and the subs ? Sorry if this is a stupid question or not don't know much about this system **** just don't want installer to rip me off an mess things up

You will be fine with the lc2i with your setup it's just a matter of bridging the channels. I have been running a Zed Minotaur and a Morel Ultimo for almost 2 years now with zero issues.

if the installer can't figure this setup out, RUN! The lc2i is the easiest line converter to hook up.
