Default Need brake help

Just did a brake job on my IS-F. Everything went smoothly for 50 miles, then as I'm pulling into the driveway I hear a horrible grinding from the front.

Disassembled everything this morning and it looks like the pads are in constant contact with the rotor. Is there a set screw I missed? When I did the brake job, I retracted the pistons slightly with a C-clamp, and did not bleed the brakes. What am I missing?

Did you properly bed them in?

Why didn't you bleed them? did you check your fluid level?

Yup, bedded them in with stops from 30, 40, 50 and 60mph.
Didn't bleed them because the fluid is less than 10,000 miles old, and the system remained sealed. Fluid levels look fine.

I guess my question is, what is the proper way to retract the pistons?

I use a C clamp with the old pads. Did you check if the dust shield is scraping the rear of the rotor?

I had a small stone get between the rotor and the backing plate which made a loud grinding noise, may be it's just something simple like that.

dingdingding, we have a winner.
Took it back apart this morning, that's exactly what happened. I turned it full lock while pulling onto my street, it looks like the shield got pushed into the back of the rotor. I wonder if the rotors I bought are a different offset? I bought them from RockAuto

It happens when you lean on them. They're not thick and are susceptible to bending. Glad you figured it out and it wasn't anything out of the ordinary.
