Mild metallic whirling noise from the brakes without pressing the brakes
The temperatures here in AZ have finally cooled and I have been driving with my windows down. I have noticed that when I drive right next to a wall I can hear a very mild metallic whirling noise ( faint) I took it to the dealership and had them look at it when they did the 30k service and they said all looked fine and that it was a normal noise with the kind of brakes in the ISF. The tech spun all 4 tires to show me that the very faint noise is coming from all 4 wheels. We examined the rotors and they looked fine. Was just wondering if anyone had noticed this sound with their F.
I have searched and find just wheel bearing noise or noise when turning. This is neither. Any input would be a great help. Thanks

The first time I rode a bike with drilled rotors (back when I thought they actually did something useful), I was amazed at the noise they made just rolling down the road. Very easy to hear on a bike. Much harder to hear on a car unless you have a wall reflecting the sound back at the car. I'd be a lot of money this is what you are hearing.

HAHA When you're right , you're right. Funny Because I didnt hear it on the way home. Honestly though, I think I have dog ears and when it comes to cars I am the most sensitive person I know......to car. I dont usually cry during movies
In the end I think as an previous LS460 owner I am used to hearing nothing......and also feeling nothing. lol

Mine makes that noice when I pass by a wall I can hear it more prominently. I heard the same exhaust noice on my wifes car after replacing her brakes with dimpled and slotted rotors, and the noise was more noticeable with very light braking (or tapping the brakes lightly). It drove me crazy trying to figure it out lol. We both have aftermarket wheels so I figured it was a wheel bearing, but who knows lol.
