Default DIY: Lexus ISF Aeroworks CF splitter

Hey guys,

Finally got the Aeroworks CF splitters and spent some time to install it.
Took me about 3 hours but I also took the time to put on some adhesive velcro for protection.
And re-sealed one of my headlights

First I took off the bumpers. follow this guide

Then the rest is easy.
Make sure to clamp or put a bucket under the washer fluid hose if you have the headlight cleaner option.

Fitment of these splitters are almost 100%. right side was perfect, left side has a slight gap but its like 1mm ... very small.

Just line it up, and drill 3 holes on the bottom and 1 on the side.
The splitters came with screws and some fasteners. Easy to install

I put some 3M adhesive tape as well just in case

I stuck some Heavy Duty industrial velcro strips on the underside in case i rub.
Don't want to scratch these babies =)

Hope this helps everyone!

Thanks for the DIY. I'm hoping to get my splitters soon.

From the looks of it...do you really have to take off the front bumper? Looks like it could have been done without removing it.

^ That's what I was thinking. It's kind of a PITA. I don't want to ever remove mine again unless its to swap the headlights.

Thanks for the guide though.

Definitely would be able to install them with more ease and comfort with the bumper off.

If the bumper takes you more than 10 minutes to remove you're doing it wrong.

I might have to pick up a set of these, they look good. I had splitters on my Mazda 6 way back when and they really set the car off.

You are correct. It can be done without taking off the bumper.

I had to take off my bumper to re-seal my left side's headlight since I was getting condensation. So i did it all in one shot.

I was hoping to do the re-seal + LED fog lights + CF splitters in one shot. would be much easier with bumper off.

The bumper isn't that hard to take off.

NOTE*** One thing to be cautious about. There is a foam sealed wire harness that strings from the right side to the left from the bottom front of the bumper. This is where the holes of the CF splitters are. When you drill upwards make sure you don't cut the wiring harness.
On the right side it was ok, i just had to pull the harness out from a plastic holder and it can be pushed aside. But from the LEFT (passenger) side, right at one of the holes is a plastic clip that is stuck onto the bumper. You need to rip off the clip before you drill or else you will hit your harness. This may be stuck on at different places depending on vehicle so some others may be fine.

Other than that, installing is a breeze. it'll take you 30 minuets to line up and drill and screw it .
Again, I stuck it on first with 3M tape , then drilled and screwed in.
Maybe a washer on the underside would be better to give it some more support. But I don't think there would be much downforce on this thing.

I think 10 minutes is a little to "pro" for the average person.

took me about 30 minutes to get off . I was careful and did want to break any tabs.
Also it was a PITA when I took off the headlight washer fluid tube. I didn't have anything to clamp it so i just put a bucket under.

Not sure about anyone else but there are two bolts that hold the top of the bumper to the chassis around the headlight area. They have a rubber grommet over it as well. Those two screws were a B*tch to take out. And i'm not exaggerating. I ended up stripping the top of the bolts and it broke two of my phillips heads. I just don't understand why they wouldn't come out. I had to use vice grips to force them to turn out.
I bought replacement parts for those 2 bolts as well... cost me $40 . WTF!

But yes i agree, taking off the bumper is the way to go if you want to do it right.
but for those who don't mind the small gaps or not 100% fitment, then you're good. it probably wont' be noticeable.

BTW, these put the front of your car lower by like 1/2" at the lowest point (edge near the center) . for those that are lowered, be careful =)
i'm driving extra slow over bumps now.

i was one of the first to order. i believe it took 2 months around.

the shipping itself came in like a week. the wait is mainly them making it. apparently it takes a month to make 5? or something like that.

since then i don't know how many have ordered. i got a list of people signing up but after awhile Nigel gave a link and everyone just ordered there.

Looks great!

Ordered myself a set the other day. I know it's going to be a while before I get mine, but that's not a problem. Got plenty of other stuff to fit before then.

Price was excellent for these. Worth every cent from what I can see.
