Default Custom Side Skirts Complete!

Well men I am always trying to find cost effective ways to bypass the cost of "authentic" carbon fiber parts we have offered for our vehicles. With $325 invested in a replica painted spoiler (soon to be molded), I was on the search for side skirts and plastic I had available at work. After much deliberation with some of my fabricators on a one off project the owner gave the ok (and know he is making some for his SRT8 charger, lol) I have arrived back from Korea, and the guys at my facility I work at procured some custom part did it! We use many different types of mold-able plastics, and here are pics $190 dollars invested besides paint of a quick mock up as I just got home. Now I need input, should I color match and or have painted gloss black?

Looks good. I vote gloss black. Are you planning on molding and making more?

Honestly, they were quite cheap to make even after labor. I doubt to be honest I could make a lucrative move fabing these at the shop where I work due to ethical reasons and conflict of interest. Im sure it will come up tomorrow when I talk to the owner; you never know. We have forming materials and many mills for R&D and sensors we build. I gave much kudos to the guys for such a product and the owner giving the OK and for me to have such a surprise as I was ready to spend hundreds on a toms kit. It saves a ton and really I feel much better knowing being low I was worried about damaging the carbon pieces.

Way more satisfying to make these, than to go buy some ready made ones!

Nice job!

Yea, I respect there may have been another version to purchase but to know that such an idea spoke about at times with colleagues became a bespoke part from the hands of friends is priceless and so much respect to them. Also, knowing that these werent parts that cost me an enormous monetary value (NOT SAYING THAT I DO NOT RESPECT AUTHENTIC CF PARTS), but for me I feel much more at ease knowing is a durable material that can handle abuse if vehicle bottoms out which it will at ride height I run if it bottoms out.

I just feel "bad ***" knowing "these were made for ME" lol..Any who thanks for the comments men,

While it would've been easier to purchase something like this that's available in the market, it's really cool to see you took the time to make it your own. Honestly, I'd give it a glossy black color just so that it accents the lines of the side more. Color matching might just blend in and you won't get to draw attention to the detail of the work you did in creating these pieces.
