I honestly think for that price, they could make it using 321 tubing instead of 304. Not that it is necessary for our (NA) application. Don't get me wrong, I have talked to Taku about it. I am still considering getting a set but it is hard to spend that money if I know I can build my own.

The reason for the long hiatus is lack of interest especially at the price tag. We have focused on products that people are immediately interested in. There is also going to be the argument of peak vs area HP. We could design for a top en HP but it might shift the curve and that is not desirable either. Being a mile above sea level, even though dynos correct, has also proven to be a point of contention on raw numbers on this forum. Yes dynos are important, but they do not tell the whole story on drive ability. In 2 years I have had 2-4 people interested casually and that is with no price tag attached. An equal length header means more fabrication plus a more complicated jig resulting in a higher cost. The end result is likely only going to be a moderate increase in HP over the current offering from PPE. So I want people to critically think about the development before they start asking for dyno numbers to sway their decision. It would be part of the development but where do you draw the line? 10hp increase? 15hp increase? would that be enough to justify the many thousands of development dollars and perhaps a $2500-3000 price tag. Just let me know what you all would consider a meaningful increase and a price point that is tolerable.

The other thing about the Novel product that people do not consider is that the tune is necessary to iron out some of the lean spots in the curve. Do you want to go down that path?

I need to pick the right specs to target so it helps if people add the "why" to their interest:
1.Peak HP even if only marginally more than existing products.
2.Bragging rights?
3.Increase in low end torque?
4. OK to weld a flange onto existing exhaust?

Price point?

Mike

Sound also seems to be a big selling point for most of the ISF owners here. It seems like exhaust selection is more based on sound then price, weight or power curve/peak.

I'm sure the equal length long tube header will have the bonus perk of a great exhaust note.

From a performance aspect this typically wouldn't top the list but somehow it seems to with ISF owners.

Im interested in EL headers too b/c it always gives deeper and meaning sound that why i have been holding off to get Sikky or PPE headers.

Sound was one of my own personal reasons. My goal would be to have a pitchy high note vs the throaty sound of a domestic V8.

I'd be interested for the sound mostly and also the added improvement in performance, even if it's not much. I think between $2500 -$3000 would be a good price point.

Agree - I'm interested in EL headers if it will help provide the high pitch note similar to the one from novel.

i think 3000 would be a good price point IMO if it can be done (know its a lot of work), especially if there are options for stainless steel. I know this is premature but if you want to start a group buy to get some commitment on interest, I'd be down.

You guys need to understand, that its not JUST the headers that provides the sound.. its the exhaust as well.

It's been proven that a Novel EL headers with any USDM exhaust like the ISS forged will still sound like a domestic V8. You need to change the pitch of the sound through the headers AND an exhaust. Changing one aspect does not change the other.

With that being said, an EL header for a high pitched exotic sound is only half the battle.

Very true and one of the reasons I still have the twin HKS ti can exhaust I made 4 years ago. Its just a rear section but has a refined pitch and sound like a car that is tuned, not just uncorked. That is one more reason why I wanted to do it as a complete system as well so there is control over the entire exhaust note.

I see the commitment issue because people need to start ditching their exhaust for a full REFINED setup . TBH if you released this way earlier, you would of took a huge market share from other companies. People on this forum wants a high pitched exotic sound with an exhaust that replaces the stock-oem tips. I understand the initial loss in money due to R&D but if you had to develop one and released a youtube video, you could of won the hearts of many.

With that being said, since the car is not being made anymore.. the decision is now. I look forward to your developments (always been a fan of your work) but by the time this system is out I probably would of moved on to a new car.

Edit: Also another comment is obviously people on this forum wants a setup thats reasonable in cost. I wouldn't want you to start developing a product and realize not many people wants to pay for it (like Novel did). With that being said, headers and exhaust these days go for $3200 (ppe and Joe Z) for a full system.. if you can bring the pricing to under $4k or even under 3k (for those matching headers and borla exhausts), then it would be enough to make many MANY people want it. Forget the options, coated headers/valve system/titanium material/titanium tips/slip joints vs gasket/etc.. IMO it doesn't matter. If its functional and installs without issues without CEL's its FINE. It sits under the car where no one will admire the beauty.. as long as it sounds like a monster it will sell faster than an ice cream shop in the middle of the desert on a hot day.

Mike,
I've spoken with you several times in the recent past. I purchased the Control arms, toe link, and front bushing kit from you. Your customer service was top notch! As I told you last time we spoke, I would immediately purchase a system from you if you decided to release one. Please let us know if you receive enough interest.
Thanks, Adam

Thanks for the support guys. In the initial years of release this vehicle had a good option for what people wanted at the time and I saw no meaningful reason to muddy the waters so I invested in other things. I will see what I can do once we receive the PPE exhaust to audio and product shots and kick this product development off.

No I agree their quality is above that of PPE or Sikky. However, $6k for equal length headers that really wont give you that much of an advantage over the other brands, I can't justify.

Price point?

Mike
1. A greater peak HP would be welcome
2. Ehh w/e it's subjective
3. Low end torque bump would be nice
4. As far as I'm concerned move the o2 bung to wherever it needs to be to make EL happen. I feel that most companies have handicapped themselves by trying to put the collector high enough up to make the o2 sensor in the factory place. If you're already paying more than $2k for headers and install, what's another couple hundred? Maybe that's just me though.
5. As far as sound goes, I want something more exotic. I like that our cars are Japanese muscle cars, but I've never been a fan of muscle car sound. I want refined, exotic, LFA like exhaust notes lol. I mean if you want to really increase complexity you could do 180 degree EL headers and I think you would create a product that once heard would sell itself.

Price point: You tick most of those boxes and make these things happen; I would gladly pay $3k for them.

This response pretty much aligns with my personal goals for the product. However the curve will take some work.
