Used headers on ebay
I have been looking around here and there on craigslist and ebay for a while and stumbled upon a set of Sikky headers someone posted.... they replied and said the o2 sim is included ... looks like a winner to me ... anyone have any drawbacks to buying used that I should look out for with these?

Check to see if they are willing to throw in a set of exhaust gaskets. Just keep in mind that most double up on the header to block gasket to prevent any leakage down the line. Other than that they look good IMO
Only problem I would see with something used is that it's USED lol u never know how many times its been heated up and cooled down making the metal weak and thus causing a leak and a problems down the road
He said no to new gaskets ... the exhaust side ones are just generic circle-gaskets ? Double up on manifold-to-block gaskets? >> ?? blasphemy. Seriously ? That's safe / gets a tighter seal?
I used to install and remove headers on my race car all the time. Exhaust manifold gaskets were cheap and of good quality. However, unless they were torn I'd nearly always reuse the old ones.
Here is what I did:
1. Once used, put the gaskets back were they came from.
2. Be sure your header flanges are thick. Those Sikky's are thick.
3. Be sure the mating surfaces fit flat. Both the head mounting surface and header flange must be flat. Use a straight edge on the headers and mill them if needed.
4. Stacking gaskets is ok, but I used Permatex orange high temperature silicone on the header flange and stuck the gasket to that. Always worked with no leaks even on thin flanges.
5. Do not over torque the header flanges.
6. Smart people use studs on aluminum heads. Installing Heli-Coils in aluminum heads is not fun.
I think it should work on the F to.

Doubling up on the header to block gaskets is what others have done from old header threads I have read. Since my car was still new when I had my headers installed, the Lexus Tech just cleaned and reused the original gaskets. Not sure if the info helps or not... If not then disregard my post, I don't want to cause any confusion.
The post on ebay looks legit and the guy seems honest in his description so its a deal I wouldn't pass up if headers are on your mod list...
