Default Rear view mirror question

looking to the forums for some help. new owner of a 2010 isf and noticed that the homelink buttons don't light up at night, is this correct or they supposed to?
any help would be appreciated.

Pretty sure they do not light up..but truthfully, I never paid much attention to them.

They do not light up at night.

I believe the 2012+ models have the light led feature. I have an 11 and have been tempted to swap it out with a 12 but not sure how easy the install would be, plus its like $600 for that part...
