I just the kw v3 coils installed with upsized Michelin pss (275/245) and am experiencing a problem.
There is a clunking sound and a plethora of noise coming from the rear shocks.
My sikky sway bar has also been set onto the stiffest setting.
I am upset as I put down a great amount of time and money into upgrading suspension/tires.
Has anyone else had noise issues with coilovers (specifically from the rear)?
I am bringing the car back to installer tomorrow to diagnose possible install error.
*the noise is ESPECIALLY loud and is not suitable.
I know on previous coil overs i had that if the top hats werent 100% tightened down they would loosen up and you would get a loud clunking noise over bumps.
Also the sikky rear sway bar the adjustable turn buckle end links can slop back and forth making noise. I changed those out and put my stock end links back in because of a noise they made as well every time i would come out of a driveway at an angle they would clunk.
Good luck but its mainly going to be an installation issue IMO
Definitely an installation issue. If a bolt is not tightened down all the way then it will make that noise.. if a ring or adjustable shaft is slightly loose, itll make clunking noises.
Tighten everything down again and you should be fine.
sounds like something is not tightened up correctly. Getting the top hats tightened was a PITA when I did mine. Also I found that after I preloaded the suspension the 3 screw that hold the top in place needed to be re-tightened as well. Hope they get it sorted out for you.
Was this issue resolved? I've been experiencing this same issue on my BCs the past couple of months and it's beyond annoying. It's been freezing here so I haven't had a chance to check it out but I'm hoping it's just a loose bolt.

Hi, problem was easily resolved. Rubber isolators weren't installed on top of each rear strut tower...this is why I will DIY next time, every time.
I've experienced no noises/problems with the coils ever since. If your problem existed since install (even if the severity of the noise was much less), an installation error probably occurred. If not, surely something's loose.
This is exactly the reason why I hate changing out suspension pieces to aftermarket, because there's always some new noise that wasn't there before. I owned 3 cars before the ISF and all of them I had the coils changed and every single one of them made some type of noise that drove me crazy. So now on the ISF i left it stock, and after 5 years still no noise, although I really don't appreciate the ABSOLUTELY ridiculous ride quality on non-perfect roads. Actually at times I think to myself this is one of the most horrendous riding stock car I've owned.
from what I have seen from install videos they have to cut a part of the oem shock off and then drill out a hole in the hat to make it round instead of oval ( dont quote me). I am assuming it may have something to do with that. When I saw the dude in the video modifying an oem part to fit the coil overs it was a turn off. Just looked like a problem waiting to happen to me.

Good luck on getting it resolved.
I did the install myself last summer and everything has been fine up till a couple months ago. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm so ill check it out.
