Default What made you choose the IS-F over other cars?

Don't get me wrong here, I'm a die hard Lexus fan from the beginning. I'm just wondering why you guys chose the IS-F over, say, the 370z, which is much cheaper and can produce similar 0-60 number - or something like Lotus Exige which is a pure sport car for that amount of cash. The reason why I asked is that I want to buy the IS-F, but I imagine seeing a stupid 30k car like a mustang beat me on the street could make me go nuts. Thanks in advance.

Similar 0-60 with a 370Z? Are you kidding? See the videos below. Not even a contest. The mustang 5.0 is a beast and it is a driver's race between the two cars. But you get more luxury and refinement with the F. I like the Lotus Exige but like you said it is a pure sports car in a different class from the F.

even .1 secs off of the 0-60 is a good amount of of difference than what people make it seem. 370z is as close to the isf in the 0-60 time as the isf is as close as the ISF is close to the audi r8 in your terms as "almost the same" . makes no sense.

there are reasons why some cars are more expensive than other cars. that's like saying ferrari owners get mad when they see stock cars in the 55-65k range being faster than their car. you are losing the whole concept on why it's more expensive. Speed is irrelevant to some.

Modding is sort of irrelevant to me. The ISF is a fast and nice looking car out of the box, plus it has luxury and rarity. Can't ask for more. 416hp is enough to get anyone in trouble.

The weather on Guam is very humid, so I would take those 1/4 times with a grain of salt. Not to mention that both drivers wait paying too much attention to the tree and took off right at green SMH.

That intrigue on others' face is what captivated me when I got my F. Everyone knows about the M and AMG and even the Z heritage, but Lexus is forging its path with the F. I honestly like the Z's coupe styling, but I need four doors. It's nice to still get the compliments and inquiries of what the F truly is.

Who knows how much spray that mustang was using. And it was an intake/exhaust F. Let the F get headers and some spray and let them run again lol.

In response to your why did you buy thread: my BMW kept breaking and was in the shop all the time and I wanted a nice V8, so here I am! Lol

TO THE OP's original question

Mainly what grabbed me is I have been driving Toyota's since 1996. I have waited for them to build something like this because it will outlast and not have the BS issues all those other cars WILL have and do have
BMW, MB, Nissan....non can touch Toyota in the reliability and longevity with minimal issue category
...For those that swap out cars every 2-3 years it may not matter, but for those tht bought the F knowing they will hold onto it...Im sure that meant a lot to them...tht trust that Lexus doesnt build crap

Owned a G35 coupe...SOLD with 14K miles on it---more BS issues in 14K miles than I have ever had on any of my toyota's / lexus' with triple that mileage.

Also NO naturally aspirated Nissan 370Z, BMW 335i, Subaru WRX Sti,Mitsu Lancer Evo, etc, etc will ever contest your F. The will need to be modded (some more heavy than others) to hang with your F; and then past 100MPH forget it
Its where the big boys play....the F will simply stride out and walk away from all of them with ease and they will get a nice view of the tail lights.
The F is no slouch - dont let the "Lexus" fool you

and you will do it all in a car that has touch sensing door handles (never pull out your key ever!), automatic windshield wipers, headlight cleaners, parking sensors, A DVD ready to play movie on the screen (once you park), while you verbally tell the 'Navi girl' to set the dual zone climate control to "72 degrees" and she repeats back to you in the lovly voice - "setting temperature to 72 degrees" ------Ahhh Luxury! (and a real S.O.B when u want it)

I have always been a toyota/lexus can for the point of reliability. I owned many IS300's and almost a hand full of MKIV Supra's. I am getting older as is the family so I needed something with 4 doors and still fun to drive. The F fit and to top it off....its pretty

Well had a budget to stick to and didn't want a BMW or an Audi and wanted something which will be fun to drive daily and have enough POWA to keep me happy.

.....So far I'm loving it

I test drove a 2010 370z. First thing I noticed was the cheap interior. No thanks

Why limit to one particular manufacture, I say.

I don't get how one can be a "DIE HARD" Lexus fan. Has Lexus been making high performance...err...even PERFORMANCE oriented cars very long?! Pretty much the IS is the only "sports" car they make if you even want to call it a sports car
