What if I just took the resonator out?

Clips are on youtube... I'll try to take one tonight before we get that blizzard tomorrow. Most of my clips are on my channel http://www.youtube.com/user/remiks3/videos but they are all me either revving or at WOT.
Best way to describe it is, at 2k RPM it's loud but tolerable at other RPM's. the sound intensity varies. If you're cruising on the hwy on level ground and you lightly rest your foot on the pedal, the car pretty much sounds stock.

is there another way to cut it rather then removing the muffler part and still gain similar sounds?.

That 2k RPM drone is bloody annoying. I've got a Borla catback myself, after adding 2 venturis and applying dynamat behind the rear seats, it's helped a lot but not completely eliminated it. Is there an aftermarket system out there that doesn't have the dreaded 2k drone? I'm quite sensitive to the sound.

Interesting you should mention this. On one of my Corvettes, the 1999, I installed a high flow exhaust system and actually lost some power. I could only tell by the seat-of-the-pants feeling because I didn't put the car on a dyno or anything. Still, the effect was noticeable.
So, from what I have experienced, a loss of some back puressure can indeed lead to less power.

The F will gain some power no matter what you do with the exhaust. There are gains from removing mufflers, secondary cats and primary cats. Obviously the best approach and one that will yield even more power for those budget minded is to just get a Borla true dual system that can be had for under $1000 new and even better deals on used.
Hacking the OEM exhaust has its expense and downfalls.
