Default Non Staggered vs. Staggered

So I know mostly everyone on the forum runs staggered rims and tires, but I've heard that running non staggered wheels with staggered tires are fine also. Can anyone clarify this, probably driving mostly on street.

Sure it will work. Rim width isn't a huge safety factor unless you're trying to put a wide tire on a narrow rim or a narrow tire on a wide rim. The tire specs on the Tire Rack site show you the manufacturer's recommendations for rim width with any given tire. They're not absolute gospel for street use, but they're 100% safe.

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I would post my question on this one. I have been toying with the idea of going with a non-staggered setup next summer.

I was thinking about getting WedsSport TC105N 18x9 +50 all around with 275/35R18 Michelin PSS tires. First, does anybody know if this will fit the front? KJH (Meet Azure thread) successfully ran a 265/35R19 Michelin PSS front tire on a 19x9.5 +49 rim without fender mods. The 265/35R19 is .7" taller than the 275/35R18, and the 275/35R18 has only a 0.2" wider section width (according to tirerack)...So I'm pretty sure it would work, especially with a stock suspension. This setup would be 38 lbs lighter than the stock wheels with the stock Bridgestones, and would have 50mm wider front and 20mm wider rear rubber. 275mm rear Michelin PSS tires are working out well for me right now with 405whp and I figure that will be plenty wide after I get a 2010+ rear differential with Torsen LSD installed (gotta find one first).

Anyway, comments/advice regarding this would be appreciated. I am curious if the wide front rubber will make the car more difficult for daily driving. Will it make the car require much greater steering input to keep straight at high speeds?

Im highly considering running a non-staggered set up with the Linea Corse LC818s like a few of the guys have already done. I found 3 threads discussing non-staggered set ups as the main topic but there wasn't much info.

My questions for the guys with LC818s 19x10 non-staggered are: are there any performance issues (turning, tire rub, balance, etc?), what size tires are you running in the front (245, 255??), size of spacers?

If anyone can chime in with more info as well on advantages or set backs of running non-staggered.

The reason i want to do it is to get the concave wheel in the front as well as the back.

TIA...

I had 255 front and 275s rear. I Probably could have easily fit 265s up front.

19x10 +38 all around, lc818. 255/275, im slammed on KW v3's and I got my rear fenders shaved, which fixed the rubbing in the rear, but for the front I rub a lot , especially when i reverse. its super loud and the tire is like ripping out the fender.

^^^ that's different than what CalitriSC is experiences - he says he has no problems - maybe its the varying brand of tire or thathe's using spacers

I'm running the same setup as (no spacers front and 3mm spacers rear) obby, but not as low as him. Prob an 1" higher, but no roll and no rubbing issues on regular driving.

No, for the weight of all 4 wheels and tires.
