Default Vendors using my car without permission

I've noticed that a few vendors have been using my cars to display parts on there web sites without ever contacting me for permission. Some of the photos are my own that have been pulled from forums and others I have never seen before. The best part is that I have never done business with these vendors.
I've never researched this before but it just doesn't seem right to me. I have no issue helping a friend, a vendor I have a relationship with or helping a shop that discounts parts for me but these shops are none of those things.
Does anyone know how to approach this type of issue or is it just acceptable?

Send them an email saying they have to remove it from the site, pay you or your will press charges if your really serious.

You can email them and they will probably take them down. But if you post pictures of your car on a public forum people can really do whatever they want with the pics.

Assume this is on eBay?

Use the report feature to report usage of your own copyrighted image. Also contact the vendor directly to give them a strongly worded request to immediately cease and desist using your image.

I had the same issue with my e46 M3. A certain wheel maker used my car on their site without my permission. I emailed them and politely requested a set of embossed center caps as payment. They were on my doorstep in a week.

Didn't have to wield the light saber and regulate on them?

This also happened to me when I used to own my integra. Found my images popping up on ebay. Contacted the seller and asked them politely to remove the images unless they want to compensate or give me a discount on parts. Both vendors removed my image and apologized. No harm done

if there is no copyright then there is no legal matter at hand - you posted the pics on a public forum

If I post something on a forum without it saying copy right on the pic then that means I don't care if anyone uses my pics. Not like I was making any money from them so if someone else can use my pic to promote there product have at it lol
