Obviously weight is a factor but it barely hangs with an M3 at the track - suspension is key

can anyone suggest a solution to for gaining access to the rear rebound adjusters on the top of the shocks. Is is a PITA to remove the carpet?

Just saying I could feel your pain about finding out that you have to cut your OEM top hats and can't put them back to stock AFTER you already committed the money and had your car's suspension disassembled at the shop. I have been there before, not with suspension, but with many mods on many different cars. It's always a facepalm moment when something ends up being more extensive and expensive than you originally planned and you think, damn, I should have read about this more to know what I was getting in to.

Or maybe that's just me.

I would recommend purchasing a set of additional top hats so you don't have to worry about it. Keep an eye out on the classifieds and you can prob pick up a set. That's what I am doing/did.

yes, its quite a pain. One member made a small cut in the carpet to gain access. I will be installing my KW V3 soon and will see how long i can live with removing the carpet before i get too fed up and just make a small incision too.

Just make a small hole and buy a longer adjustment wrench/allen. You probably wont notice the hole that small.

You might have the option of going with an aluminum top mount also rather than the OEM stuff. I would contact KW to check on that.

Yes the reason KW V1-3 all use OEM top mounts because to TUV regulations in Germany and surrounding.

How is that news? BTW, did you weigh your car or just quoting the 'Net sources?

If you weighed it, yours is a tad on the heavy side.

My car was corner weighted/balanced so that's how I got the total. And no I wasn't publishing ground breaking research, just stating my experience

I would give them a call, just about any brand with work that can accept your OD spring which should be 60mm.
