TSB For sunroof? Price quoted for headliner removal
So I got tired of the squak and clunking from going over bumps, I took my car into the dealer and they agreed they can hear the noises. They want 500 bucks to remove the headliner in order to determine if parts under there are covered under warranty. Has anyone had to pay? I searched and I could not find any TSB numbers related to the roof/headliner/sunroof.
Its so annoying im about to just pay the freight on this. Any help would be much appreciated. Oh I have the Extended Lexus Platinum Warranty.

they said that creaking noises and rattles arent covered under warranty only known issues with TSB like the dash board. They said they can remove the headliner and then replace things under warranty that are damaged etc. However dropping the headliner is not something covered.

Try checking the TSB tab above to double check but I'm pretty sure I didn't see one specifically for the headliner or for sunroof rattling.
Though I would have to agree with everyone else that it is BS that they will charge you for this warranty-type work, go to another dealership for another opinion.

But yeah the platinum warranty doesn't cover rattles or loose things, it covers the mechanical aspects of the car... the original bumper-to-bumper of 4 years/50k will cover rattles and loose stuff...
Robert, i think you are the first with this weird rattle happening to you... how about you remove it yourself and show up with a headliner-less F? just a thought, but they probly will still turn you down saying you loosened something up while taking the headliner off...
keep us posted with any solution...

If its leaking air or water you could claim it wasnt a "rattle" issue. I think its BS though. If you have a wheel bearing go out, do they charge you the labor to remove the wheel to investigate the issue? NOPE
