Rattle Warranty
So I went to the dealership last week to get some rattles checked and fixed.
The advisor tells me that my warranty for rattles has expired after 1yr, 12000 miles.. and they wanted to charge me 6hrs for labor to pull the dash apart..
I find this hard to believe that the warranty for "rattles" would expire that fast...
Is it true or what...

Some makes do have policies concerning "adjustments", which include rattles, that limit warranty work to the first year/12k. This is usually limited to cheaper cars, which your service advisor clearly used to work with. Ask him if he misses the Pontiac dealer the next time you speak with him.

Yeah, I'm not buying that either. I'd tell that advisor to have that comment noted in the invoice first (with and estimate of repair) . Tell him/her that you're interested in having it done and will be getting it done in the next visit. You just need the estimate so you won't forget how much it would cost to have it done.
Then give the service manager a call regarding your experience once you've picked up your vehicle. Someone's a$$ is in for a chewing soon.

The warranty documents are in the leather case in your glovebox. Bring them in and ask the service advisor to show you the specific section of the warranty where coverage from rattles is limited to the first year/12,000 miles.
that's not true. as a tech, i wish it were true, i might be able to make money fixing rattles but unfortuantely for me and fortunately for you guys, rattles are covered as long as the bumper to bumper lasts.
