Default Updated Hood

I previously had installed a different set of carbon fiber vents. They didn't turn out the way I wanted. After a long search, I came to the decision on the vents from 3D Design. They are made for the BMW 1 series. I contacted the manufacturer for specs to make sure they would fit before making the purchase.

They turned out great. The quality of the vents were excellent. They come with removable rain trays. The rain trays have vents on the side, so they still remain functional when on. The vents are molded to the hood. The hood was repainted and the vents were clear coated with the hood with UV resistant clear coat.

PurduePete: I saw your post on Meade916's thread. I was going to post this after the show in Sacramento. It's a one off hood I had my body shop do for me, not the TRD one.

Awesome! I've been looking at doing the same and have been trying to find someone else that has done this. I was looking at the vents posted here but I really like the vents you went with. They look a bit more agressive and the fitment looks perfect. Great job and thanks for posting.

Looks good, instead of angle the vents just doing it straight and bring it down from the top will be more effective ?

Looks good. The vented hood is taking this car in a different direction than I'm going with mine, but it still looks good and is definitely unique.
By the way, is that photo editing, special lighting or some sort of magical wax/polish/sealant that you have on the car in that last pic? That paint looks wet it is so nice.

i think you should try and match the location of the trd hood vents
they probably have them located there for specific reasons
some r and d probably went in to finding where best to let the heat escape

saw your car yesterday and loved the new change to the hood. i thought it was a after market hood at first..

LOL, that last picture wasn't taken by me. I believe it has to do with the camera and photo editing. I wish the paint looked like that.

The angle might look off from the pictures. The right/left edges of the vents are parallel to the driver/passenger side of the car. Here is a straight on picture.
