I would try stopping in a non-busy residential street and see if the triangle corresponds to the cross streets you are at... if it's off by two blocks, you need to go to the setup screen and goto calibration which is on the third setup page and move the reticle to the cross street you are at...

Or maybe you are in a bad GPS area? compare it to using a phone with GPS...

 

OP do you have tints? This could be the cause. If not, I'd try to upgrade the system and take it to the dealer as a last resort. Some other members in this thread could probably chime in, those who have upgraded their nav software.

 

Yes, it only affects the ETA. My suggestion was to double check all of his settings. As well as an updated disc and calibration.

This lagginess is at every point and time. Going slow, going fast does not matter.

And no, no tints at all. Nothing in the car has been modded to affect the navi.

Id start by seeing how many satelites you are picking up under navigation info. - just like a hand held gps the amount of satellites determines your signal sttrength and accuracy - 5 satellites ßhould get u a decent signal

yeah that's really laggy now that we can see what you are talking about... i'm guessing you are out of warranty but keep us posted if you find a fix...

 

I can see the lag, that's not normal maybe its time to take it in to Lexus and see what they can do for you. It is reviving the GPS signal cuz you can see it on the left hand corner. It must be something with the software or the Navi it self. Do you have the extended warranty?

 

No I don't have extended warranty. Hopefully an newer software disc is all I need at the moment.

 

I don't the 5 gen Nav system in our ISs has turn by turn voice, even with the new updated MAP 11.01, I don't know about the 6 gen Nav in the IS's because I haven't test or drive one, but on the 2012 rx and my 13 LX has turn by turn voice, I love that feature, I hate my Nav in my 07 Is even with updated map, and still no turn by turn map voice
