Default Customized IS-F

Hello all,

I just received my IS-F back from the shop. I have always wanted a custom paint job. I wanted the brightest white possible so decided on the white from a 2011 Lamborghini Aventador and Porsche Black for the roof and trim. I also had Quad Laser Interceptors and a Beltronics STI-R Plus internal radar system installed. The brake calipers are painted blue to match the F logo. I also removed the center Lexus logo from the trunk. C and G Customs in Jacksonville, FL performed the paint work. They did a fantastic job. All the door jams, underneath the hood, and in the inside trunk has been painted. I was undecided on replacing the rims since the stock ones are so nice so I just had them custom painted. I may buy some VMR matte black ones in the future (I had them on my BMW 335I coupe and they were very nice).

Radar: Beltronics STI-R Plus
Laser: Quad Laser Interceptors
iPhone mount: Pro-Clips USA
Custom Paint: C and G Customs in Jacksonville, FL
Laser / Radar Install: American Radio in Jacksonville, FL

Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.

Thanks Kelzzz. I just updated the picture links and they appear to be working now.

Like:
-paint color- that white is amazing!
-black spoiler, diffuser panel between the exhaust tips, strip around the bottom of the car and roof
-hardwired radar detector install

Dislike:
-blacked out headlights and tail lights (never been a fan of that no matter what car)
-black strip on the front brake duct panel behind the front wheel
-wheel color

Everything is a matter of taste of course, but the only thing I really dislike is the black part behind the front wheels, simply because it completely changes the lines of the car. The wheels and the blacked out lights are not my preference, but not horrible.

Still, congrats on the custom color IS-F! What color did you start with initially?

Not my cup of tea, I guess its the different color skirts and wheels that are throwing me off but different strokes for different folks... Nice electronics though setup though

I really like the color scheme, the wheels, and the blacked out lights & grille, but as others have mentioned I don't like the contrasting black brake duct vent.

Wow! The car looks fantastic! Now all you need is a nice set of Vossens! . Love the white with the black roof!

Thanks for your feedback Vbb. The initial color was Smoky Grey Mica. I was undecided myself on the brake duct but overall I liked the way it turned out. I may have it changed in the future though. I was also worried that the blacked out taillights would cause me to be rear ended but you can actually see the brake lights fine at a distance of 1,000 feet plus I had small strips left unpainted to make certain the visibility would be good. I think on the front I am going to switch out the headlights for the 2012 models with the LED strips. I saw a thread earlier that a dealership had them on sale for $1,200.00.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone . The radar and laser shifters work very well. I really like the added protection. I did lose the ability to open the trunk using the little button under the trunk lip because of the placement of the rear laser shifters but that does not bother me. I may get the brake ducts painted differently in the future but for now I am liking them. If anyone has any ideas for them then please let me know. Vossens would be very nice!

I like that you gave your car a personal touch. The fender vents flow too much with the color of the wheels IMO. The blue calipers are hardly to be seen with the black paint on the wheels. I'm a fan of the black grille surround, especially on white as it gives a nice pronounced look up front. The same goes for the trunk spoiler. The white with black roof scheme is always a nice look. And I like how you had the controls to your electronics neatly installed.

Which tint % did you go with and do you have any future mods planned?

Currently it has 30% tint. I plan on getting that removed though and going with 15% all the way around. Not really legal here in Florida but I have had it on every car I have owned and never gotten a ticket. The blue can be seen a lot better in real life than in pictures. I was debating going with red and I may in the future however it seems like everyone goes with red.

Also, speaking about the front grille, I am considering removing the round Lexus logo in the center of it and having it replaced with an embeded OEM F logo. The shop that painted it can fabricate a new center if I supply the OEM F logo. That way I can keep the stock grille as I do not like the looks of the JDM one (looks too much like chicken mesh IMO).
